express bowling
Both Bumrah and Siraj bowled lots of balls in the 137 k to 142 k range .... and Shami had lots of deliveries in the 136 k to 139 k range. All our pacers were quicker than SA pacers but got less bounce compared to them except Bumrah. tweaker and Mosher 2 Link to comment

Really loved that over by Siraj. He was really getting into rhythm and bowling with more pace, accuracy and movement. Hope he is ok today and it was just a case of cramps. Even in the first match they were getting more of that inconsistent bounce. We didn't get a single wicket in the second innings because of the pitch misbehaving. Elgars was debatable. BUT This brings us to the main issue that we need a U27 6'2" or taller hit-the-deck pacer who can hit top speeds of 145 k+ and get steep bounce. ( Not talking about old and unfit Ishant here ). This is really important to make our pace attack more versatile and take wickets when minimal movement is on offer ... by using bounce. Most of our pacers try to take wickets by attacking the stumps with skiddy quick deliveries which seam around a bit ( or reverse in Asia ). Bumrah is the only one who uses bounce to get wickets on occasions. ( Shami used some bounce till mid 2021 but not after that ) While SA and Australian pacers depend primarily on hitting the deck hard with tall pacers and use bounce to get more than 60% of their wickets. We need a couple of tall bounce bowlers, in our bowling pool, who can hit top speeds of 145 k+, to make our pace attack more versatile.
