You have to do just better than the opposition. You are not going to get days where you score 375 and the opposition is out at 200. England is number 1 for a reason. It's a great effort to win the ODI series.

Good for you ,if you want to play at the opposition's level.

This match shouldn't have gotten this close,there was some real bad bowling in there ,bar bhuvi. Most other bowlers were consistently inconsistent.

Such matched usually get closer because of dew effect. Niether the first time nor last.

I don't think there was much dew ,also we didn't have any spinners .

Even so how many times does a no.8/9 nearly get a 100??

Not many,infact i am pretty sure this is the first time.

There was some bad hitme bowling in there ,i would have had no problem in loosing tbh ,as long as we keep giving new bowlers chances and get to see whats what.So this was a +ve in that regard.

 

We definitely do need better spinners though.

Point me to where i have mentioned bumrah and shami in my post.

You are reading things you want to , read the posts instead. Its all in your head.

And no bar bhuvi and few spells from prasidh , and some bursts from shardul ,a lot of bowling was very very inconsistent and hittable. Less said about spin the better.

Consistency is the key and bhuvi has proven that no matter how "devastating" the batsmen ,you can stick to a line and do it.

 

So no ,i do not accept your proposition that this is the best we can do .

Bhuvi needs to stay fit and not lose his form during the IPL. If he does this he will be tough to ignore for the WTC finals. Has done reasonably well in Eng before. 

If I remember correctly he was MOM in that Johannesburg test for his efforts with bat and ball. Never played a test since. England might just be the right place to make a comeback.

What emotional posts..  shami bumrah this that.  Lòok at malnourished trundler x he bowled so well..why you are supporting fast bowler y. Wtf is wrong with you man. Stop identifying emotionally with malnourished trundlers may be just because you are physically similar to them ? they are not you. No one is out to disrespect your malnourished society ok.

I Identify only and only with performances. A lot of projection going on in this post, well done.

This is exactly like the padosi  mentality where afridi was the greatest because he used to blindly slog. They never understood what true batting is. Some Indians have the same mentality with bowling, now any pace bowler is amazing because he clocks 140

 

Dude the inferiority complex is from your side.  We can lose every match but you will worship speed guns.  cricket matches and bowling are  much more than speed gun readings

 

 

Some of you  guys need to grow the freak up. Your speed gun worship is like the teenage boy discovering internet porn for the first time. There is a lot more to life than jerking off to one thing that pleases you.

Now look at the pacers with best bowling averages in the last 50 years in the 2 longer formats. 

 

Most pacers averaging 26 or less have been either fast bowlers or tall bounce bowlers.

 

This means, if we want really good quality pacers who are high on performance ... we must look for GOOD quality pacers who are either 140 k+ or are really tall and bouncy. 

 

Short medium pacers are very very rare in these 2 lists.

A)    Pacers who are quick have access to a much wider range of skills for taking wickets compared to shorter medium pacers.

 

Skills available to short or medium height medium pacers for the purpose of taking wickets are ...

 

1)  Outswingers and seaming away balls

2)  Inswingers and seaming in balls

3)  Slower balls

 

 

Skills available to GOOD quality fast bowlers for taking wickets are ...

 

1)  Outswingers and seaming away balls

2)  Inswingers and seaming in balls

3)  Slower balls

4)  Stump directed zippy quick balls.

5)  Short of length bouncing snorters around off stump.

6)  Quick bouncers.

7)  Quick yorkers.

 

If the ball is not moving ... which is often ... then the quick or bouncy bowlers are really needed.

 

 

B)   Another very important factor is the intimidation factor. Cricket is played with a hard ball and quick deliveries hitting the hand, head, body or legs make batsmen very uncomfortable. 

 

Batsmen feel psychological pressure when facing teams with multiple hostile quick bowlers. 

 

All super dominating teams in history have had multiple hostile bowlers who are either 140 k+ or very tall and bouncy.

 

If we want to be a super dominating team, we need multiple hostile pacers.

 

 

C)  Multiple Medium pacers are ok only in T20s and even there, having good quick bowlers help.

 

There can of course be a place for 1 highly skilled medium pacer  ... but not more than 1 unless it is tests in England or NZ.

 

 

Keep these points in mind before coming up with such emotional statements.
