ind_hyd1 Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Time up for virat and Rohit unless they score centuries. Also time to include someone with extra pace ( not sure there is anyone in the wings now)

MK55 Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 I just saw the scores. Such an epic egg on the face this has been lol. Head with yet another 150? In a way this was expected. I just don’t see the bowling resources to get him out. He relishes medium pace short height bowling. AKA Indian bowlers lately. U don’t need sledging and histrionics on the field. You need guys who can trouble him with pace by bowling at his body. Also this is the typical Australian pitch. Bowling in the 130s is just not going to cut it unless you’re some kind of an exception. With the resources we are carrying, I’d go with Bumrah Rana and Prasidh. And first 25 balls need to be all at heads head and ribs regardless of what he scores. Mosher and express bowling 2

Coetzee made him look like a clown in SA and broke his hand. Also Warner (in his later years) who scored so freely looked absolutely pedestrian when Nortje was cranking it up. I can understand Rana but TM cannot risk Prasidh,he will tremble once he gets hit for few boundaries And most of our high pace bowlers are injury prone, they are left with only Siraj,Akash, Arshdeep Edited December 15, 2024 by Suhaan

He bowled decently in the A games. I just don’t see these guys having any impact on medium pace short of height bullies besides Bumrah.
MK55 Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Also can someone please give some more clarity on what I’m seeing with Aakash Deep? The first test match he played he bowls at 140-144 consistently combined with good line n lengths. That pace made him equally awkward. Almost gave the impression that he can be an ideal replacement for Shami. And since then his pace is nowhere close to that level. Is this guy only wanting to put in effort to get into the side and then thinks it’s all finished after that??? I don’t care what the reason is. He needs to work on his fitness and bowl at that same intensity most of the times or at least in some of his spells if he doesn’t have that stamina or action to sustain pace.
Rightarmfast Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 It is not about pace at all. It's the attitude that is missing. and one can see in the body language. Bowlers do not need to be introspected if they are not bowling 140/144/145 and whatever! A lot depends on the pitch, weather, your bowling partner and the mood of the team. I do not think the team is relishing playing under Rohit at all. All the bowlers are bowling nippy enough. The same battery of bowlers will wreak havoc under a different leader, in different mood, on a different pitch.. another day another time. Rohit has been doing eeny meenie moinie moo. The day he didnt need to choose batting first, he chose batting, and the day he did not need to bowl first, he chose bowling. He is committing 2 mistakes to negate 1 mistake. He needs rest. Personally I wouldn't mind seeing Rana, Aakash, Siraj, and Bumrah bowling together. That would be a good attack. Suhaan and rollingstoned 2

Says that only Bumrah and Harshit have it. They are the ones who can be consistently 140 k+ in some spells. Hate to keep going back to the 2020-21 BGT matches, but that Indian team succeeded without this pace blueprint in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Even Bumrah was not available in Brisbane where we won with Siraj, Natarajan, Thakur and Saini. Maybe the Ozzie batting is stronger (simply due to the addition of Travis Head), but their captain and bowling is quite the same as 4 yrs ago. India's current attack - on paper - is better and certainly quicker than that one. So, what's the issue? Edited December 15, 2024 by BacktoCricaddict

Correct, they are constantly under pressure to deliver everytime and are under scrutiny everytime A good batting line-up atleast puts up 350+ on sporting wickets on average but we get bowled out in less than 50 overs in red ball on those wickets That puts immense pressure on bowlers, you will get to see it tomorrow itself they will get bowled out under 200 on this pitch rollingstoned, tapandrun and express bowling 3
Lone Wolf Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 Harshit might have been ideal on this kinda track. You need more Air speed in Brisbane or a left arm angle in variation. Bouncer tactics were right but likes of Siraj and Akash aren't quick enough to soften someone like Head. Lord, Mosher and express bowling 1 2
