Surprised with Rohit's captaincy, he seems to have no vision. Kohli came with a vision and an idea he wanted to push all the bowlers to be fully fit. He wanted to build a attack which can win us matches. No one is perfect, accept  the fact some mistakes were made but we got some results. Now this guy got a settled team he needs to plan how to build his team. May be take some bold decisions like drop Chahar etc. May be he can also check whether we need Rahul in the ODI and T20 team. Also add kuldeep  yadav to the lineup. May be bring in Gill/Samson/Hooda . Since we are playing series every month may be look to include some new pace bowlers like Mavi,Saini or mukesh choudhary /simarjit/Akash deep who have been playing domestic cricket for last 2-3 years etc. He seems to be going through motions.

Mehdi Hassan is proper bowler who will be selected in the team even if he could not bat.

Our fast bowling attack is pretty much settled for WC. No need to hand out India cap like that.

Bumrah, Siraj, Shardul, Umran, Sen Arshdeep along with Pandya are enough.

We just need to play them as much as possible. No need to rest them after every series.

No Shardul or Arshdeep for ODIs. Bumrah, Siraj, Umran, Prasidh. Want them to get Kartik Tyagi in. He can be a good death bowler too. Sen needs more games to show he belongs. That's it. Don't bring any other bowler. Maybe Mohsin if fit. A pool of 6-7 frontline pacers is enough. Play them most of the games till WC. No use playing chahar, thakur, Arshdeep.

I agree..Arshdeep hasnt done that prolific work to guarantee his selection in odis..even I hv not heard his spectacular performances in india domestic odi matches..

we have clearly seen Thakur abd Chahar cant win us matches even against BD..with lack of fitness and no consistency/reliability with bat they are not ARs..period..move on from them..

time to give as many matches to Umran+Sen+ Tyagi + Siraj + (Mohsin+Krishna) if fit

Bumrah+Pandya are senior members..though we still have Q marks about Bumrahs fitness andveven Pandyas for ODIs

For that Sundar is really crucial plus being a spinner,he has the potential to be a top order batsman who can give you  6-7 overs regularly ,more so in SC

This, it's a simple strategy and choice. But selectors like buffons will follow all directions except this.
Bumrah, Siraj are locked in unless there is injury...Prasidh will be back once fit and Umran is gaining experience.
I don't know how many matches are left till the WC but maybe we can select one more from Sen/Tyagi/Mohsin, as I don't think we will be able to give them more than 8-10 ODI"s by the time WC starts.

To start, they should have included Sen and Umran in Tests alongside Siraj. But udhar Umesh bhai ka adda hai.

Arshdeep is ahead of Sen as of now as he shown abilities with new ball and death overs. Sen needs to do well next game.

Chahar is now out anyway. Don't think team will take chance with him in ODIs. 

Shardul has bowled fine imo. He will be in because of his batting abilities.

work in progress as expected.  It's best to learn at the int'l stage and get experience under his belt. Best mentorship is at the int'l level. Needs to be developed and given a long rope.  Also can't have him bowling straight 5 overs on the trot. Need to break it up.

absolutely..I didnt watch the match but he will develop some yorkers slower balls etc..with good understanding of mixing deliveries..channel balls with express pace,bouncers,yorkers,slowers ones..he will be a very difficult customer to handle..just need time and experience

What I really liked about Umran today was that he never gave any width till the end and bowled great lengths in his first 7 overs. 

 

All he needs now is to stick to this in the first 7 overs and bowl yorkers and slower balls at the end.

He did bowl in the nets yesterday, may not stress fracture but even back spasm can take 2-3 weeks to get better.

Maybe it happened after bowling in the nets. But Anjum Chopra said he was marking his run-up in the morning. Why would he do that if he wasn't supposed to play.

Big chance that Sen was niggled out after the 1st ODI loss. They don't want to experiment any further in this series.

 

Umran is more accurate now and hence preferred.

right..as TM was earlier saying to give longer run to players..so they dont want t "drop" him instead just niggle him..

still dont hav eballs to play Siraj Sen and Umran together..this trundler love is not doing any good..they still are losing the matches..even with these experienced trundlers..rather give chances to youngsters..even if team loses in meaningless series..they will lear an dimprove..like Umran is getting better..

Shahbaz Ahmed dropped for experienced Axar too.

I always thought he had some batting ability and could be groomed as a No.8
