Thats fine..they shud hv still given him last over to get more experience in such situations..SL was anyways not winning it..

May be yeah, he could have got the other guys wicket perhaps even bowled them out. Or given Shanaka 20 odd runs

Then you really dont know cricket. The fastest Shoaib bowled pre 2000 was 154k's. Check historical stats first, before taking offence.

He started playing under speed guns only in 99 lol. And clocked 156.7 that season and 157 vs srl next season itself.

Anyone saying that Umran clocks the same speed as a young Shoaib Akhtar is clueless to the core.

Umran' peak speed is as good as Shoaib but Shoaib was consistently 147+ in his early days.

I really dont remember shoaib ever bowling lower than 142 kph unless injured or warming up.

Saw lots of high 130s too.

And it's but natural.

Every pacer, no matter how quick, sometimes bowls in the 130s. There hasn't been any exception in history .

Yeh 137kph wala kaunsa shoaib akhtar dekhtay rahay ho tum sab?

This one...see from 1:01...that delivery clocked 137 kph.

He was not unfit as in first over he clocked 148.

Shoaib has bowled in low 130's multiple times, not sure how many videos are on YouTube.

Malik is bowling as quick as anyone not named Mark wood.

Rauf and Hasnain have clocked that top speed but both arent consistently in the 150 bracket like Wood.

Arey seedhe seedhe bolo Bhai, that he is fastest after Wood.

Itna ghuma phira ke kyu jawab dena.

Umran has clocked 150 multiple times today and in every match he played (except the start of his career when he was nervous).

This shows the potential this kid has and how he has grown in confidence with little backing.

Kartik Tyagi is second fastest after Umran followed by Mohsin, Kuldeep Sen and some more young guns about whom the details are present in another thread.

Hope they're backed as well so that India can create a fearsome pace battery.

he could have even got Shanaka out just needs one mishit..or got hit for consecutive fours from Rajitha like last match lol..in any case..we need to get him as much experience as he can..he is going to be a more improved bowler after 100 more intternational overs under his name ..

Yes we know you are a pak fan.

So yes thank you.

Ans yes shoaib is slightly quicker.

Seems like Umran favours ODIs more than T20s, able to express more as there is a cushion of 50 overs and Team has chance of comeback.

But donot think Ind should play him in the test his action and run-ups are not energy efficient, a lot of energy is built-up in his run-up and that momentum is carried into his delivery stride and  release- which lets his bowl at those high speeds.

If drafted into Test he might have to make his run-up more economical (energy efficient) which in turn will make him lose his speeds, his speeds seems to come from the momentum is carrying rather than the last minute effort by big shoulders.

But he should keep playing FC as that gives you opportunity to build stamina and know how on how to bowl longer spells by holding good lines at decent pace.

In FC he will not have the pressure of audiences and expectation of burning the speed guns

Yeah, I mean how is it possible that he never bowled below 140 lol. It is a natural thing to float a few balls even for the fastest. Also shorter the length on slow wickets, slower is the speed.

Commies should be ashamed...  That 156kph by Mark Wood in Pakistan was all over English media...  F*** clowns.  This was historical

Because it happens in green waste land. Land of phattu fast bowlers. Cultural thing.

We have meek sickly despicable commies. They don't celebrate hostility, aggressiveness and fast bowling.

Also tampered speed guns if it's Indian apparently even though all speed guns are accurate in India. If anything we are conservative. That's how green waste land thinks.

Not sure it this info was available to all the broadcasters, there was  confusion on SM as well till some Screenshots/photos came up.

There seems to be no Video of this on YT as well, so still not sure if that happened. even news outlets and article do not show any pics

Even Cricinfo or cricbuzz do not show anything like 156 kmph in 14th over, there is just 1 record of 150.6

Seems like it was reported as 147 on eng broadcaster and 156 on hindi broadcaster

Thats what you found out of a 12 plus year career. Sort of proves my point.
Umran atm sits with lockie, Nortje, Rauf etc. Let him reach Wood level pace before we make comparisons with Akhtar.

i have always believed that if akhtar played t20 cricket in his prime around 2002 he d have clocked alien speeds. Heck he was clocking 156 kph in 2010 in t20: as an old injured bowler. Man was bowling 155 kph plus spells in test cricket in Pakistan.
