That was in the 2019 world cup. Shami s Odi stats are seriously impressive

So in last few matches seems like both Sami and Bhumrah are bowling sub 145 kmph. Hopefully this is to avoid injury before WC.

 

In Ind you will need extra pace as most of wkts will be flat with no lateral movement.

Shardul is not in the team for his batting ability, but for the total inability of other bowler to hold the bat.

 

This was to thought about long back when Ind lost in T20 WC, there is not balance in the team.  They are more or less 1 dimensional batting/bowling.

 

Do not have a left hander in batting line-up - They are hoping its no T20-match-ups like situation. No left arm pace. He got Aswin/Sundar in because they thought they do not have much variation in spin as well.

How many bowling options does this Aus side have, looks like only warner and the wkt-keeper cannot bowl else every1 is ready to bowl few.

Terrific bowling by Shami today. This game should be the deciding game between him and Thakur. Thakur's batting is not good enough to compensate for his expensive bowling. Shami has good record in WCs too. Can tonk a bit.

I think temperatures played a part too during daytime. 

 

Cummins slowed down after that over.

 

His current spell is mostly 132 k to 140 k.

Bumrah and Shami are decent batters for the last 2 years or so.

Shami will bowl better than Shardul in 6 out of those 7 games.

 

The choice is simple IMHO. 

 

If I were a part of the TM then my 5 pacers for the WC would have been Bumrah, Siraj, Shami, Prasidh and Hardik. 

 

Shami at 8 and Bumrah at 9 are good enough in the last 2 years. Both can bat a bit and tonk a few.

Was really happy seeing Shami bowl cutters today. This is one thing that has been missing from him in death overs.

 

Still a very underrated bowler in ODIs. Can't believe they preferred Bhuvi over him
