current version seems more likely to give 10-0-90-1 in KOs

If Prasidh was available, I would have dropped Siraj in a jiffy.

 

Now the situation is tough.

 

If Bumrah and Shami bowl with the new ball then Shardul as one change means pressure is reduced and fear factor is reduced too.

 

If I were the captain then I would take Siraj aside and tell him to bowl in better areas and with more intensity. 

 

But it is good to rest him against weak teams.

we needed prasidh unfortunately. I don't like ashwin in LOIs, but current off-color version of siraj is worse as bowler, as batter, and arguably even as fielder

Prasidh should have been selected. But if the replacement for Siraj is Shardul or Ashwin I would rather back Siraj.

Siraj may have looked out of form but he does have a threat factor in batsmen's mind unlike Mardul. Siraj should play unless he has niggle.

Siraj was Ind's top pacer before the start of WC. He is not looking the same.

 

Bowling in bad areas in one thing but his pace is down too-Hope he is not injured.

Siraj can run thru sides on his day..if its between Shami vs Siraj..in current form and confidence..Shami has edge over him..

However..I wud like to somehow keep all 3 in the side..

This match again outlines the importance why you need three frontline sharp pacers instead of Dibbly Dibbly Thakur. Even if one is off color, you still have two quick pacers to work with. Imagine Bumrah, Siraj, thakur. Siraj having bad day, Dibbly Dobly thakur and and only Bumrah to work with as an effective quick pacer.

This ,he has that fear factor

Got a set Babar ,if not for him we would have been chasing in excess of 275-300 that day

he got a few useful wickets, but a far cry from his asia cup version
