Sampras was asked once, how come he is pretty much the ONLY GUY who goes tournaments after tournaments without being broken even once, let alone drop a set, yet, he very rarely beats world # 80-100 in the first couple of rounds by 6-1 or 6-2, has very very few sets won (even against nobodies) with 6-0. He simply smiled and said 'to win a slam or a match, you dont have to play like the best player ever on his best day, you just have to play a bit better than your opponent. I dont want to waste excess energy chasing 6-0 scorecards, when 6-3 is good enough'.

Keeps hitting the deck in great areas day in and day out at 135 to 140 k. Has the ball on a string. How did Chetan / Dravid / Rohit prefer Mukesh and Unadkat before Akashdeep ???? Maybe because of variety. Akash D is literally a Shami clone. Both in looks, action, pace, being skiddy etc.

Nikhil_cric Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 Indian domestic tournaments need to be overhauled. Too many matches with little gap and lot of travel. And then they make greenish pitches which suit trundlers pitching the ball up? Absolutely redundant. express bowling, ind_hyd1 and Chakdephatte 3

They should make hard, flattish pitches with bounce 2/3 of the time. And some variety the other 1/3 of the time. Mosher 1

Harshit no doubt has more ability as a bowler, but needs to work on his fitness. We could see that in Duleep trophy, his speel in 2nd innings were not upto mark. It's just a waste going for these bowlers. Where is Mukesh Choudhary though ? He has vanished suddenly. Left armer, can swing the ball miles. Bowls 135-140 with quickest around 143, 144...has bounce and zing in the delivery. Heard has some tonking ability too. Mosher and express bowling 2

Problem is ones with low ceiling are the ones who are fit and have endurance to bowl in FC. The relatively high ceiling bowlers are all injured or don't have the endurance to bowl long spells etc. Kuldeep Sen, Simarjeet, Gurnoor, Mayank, Tyagi, Umran, Mohsin heck even Nagarkoti and Mavi. They all have a higher ceiling than some of these trundlers. Yet none of them look even close to playing international cricket regularly (any format) Our production system is absolutely useless. We lose more bowlers than produce them. Edited October 1, 2024 by Nikhil_cric Lone Wolf, tweaker, ind_hyd1 and 1 other 4

These bowler should work on their fitness, unless they do that and their respective state associations should start managing their workloads properly apart from piking them regularly Nikhil_cric 1
