I just hope Mayank has been told by mgmt to go easy till the action sets in his muscle memory.
He was bowling 140-150k which is good, but Mayank's territory is 145-155k.
That 155-157 speed is something else, which is rarely seen.

They are trying to ease him into the role.

Even Umran bowled at 155 vs SL after 5-6 International games.

He did bowl 151 on debut though vs IRELAND

He even crossed 152 in his first over I think when he bowled to Williamson

Different types of deliveries bowled by Mayank today.

■  Indipping accurate yorkers at 145 k to 148 k.

■  Inseaming or angling in quick and accurate bumpers.

■  Stump directed zippy quick delivery.

■  Away seaming channel ball at pace

■  Good slower balls.

■  Back of a length bouncing channel ball .. ( this is the only type of delivery that got hit )

Team management should not make the mistake of resting Mayank in the next match. Thats definitely not beneficial considering that these are just T20s. I reckon it might be the same team next match with Harshit getting a game in the third. I’ll personally rest Arshdeep and get Harshit in the second match.

Mayank quickest 6 balls ( up to 3.3 overs but probably entire spell)

149.9 - 1.3

148.7 - 1.1

148.3 - 2.3

147.6 - 0.6

147.3 - 0.4

146.5 - 2.5

Need this + 5 over the next few matches :)

Kuldeep Sen is not MP Ranji Squad, is he yet to recover from injury

He had knee surgery. Will take time to get the knee string enough to come back.

Yes, was 5% slower than before. His club coach had once said he bowls 157-158 easily in the nets. It was during IPL.

Rightly said by mayank in interview he can bowl quicker its just that he dont want to rush at thing and let his body ease into it plus he is more focused on using speed with accuracy and consistency,so a very good approach,i am pretty sure he realised that he can hold bit and focus on his consistency

my thoughts as well..

1-easing himself back into injury, trying to bowl within himself

2-this is his debut match..and per his coach he is emotional guy..and he is just 21..he will be having some nerves too

3-trying some variety..not easy to do at full pace esp in debut match

The main thing is..he got his firts wkt and debut over was a maien over and that too last over ofpowerplay against a good batter..he now knows he belongs to this level..

we will see him bowl faster as he gets more chances..

Wasn't impressed with Nitish Reddy's bowling. He wasn't hitting the bat hard enough.

Pitch had no pace to work with... Even Mayank said in interview that he was bowling well within himself.

Reddy did bowl in mid 135-138k range which is good enough if pitch has some bounce and zip.
