Regarding playing u19. Cut off date to play u19 cricket is September 1 before turning 20. His birth date is October 21, so, he is eligible to play. In fact, he should have played u19 wc that was played in January earlier this year. He looks better than every fast bowler we picked for that world cup.

Yes, its kind of a guess work, but when there is no speedometer or a reference point, say if there is certain bowler whose speeds are know then that can be used for comparison. Generally how close or far wk is standing can give a general idea if the ball is coming at some pace or not.

 

Most times these videos looks edited and may be 2x or something, so the best way would be to draw a reference point of where wkt keeper is standing.

 

Yes 135 kmph is good for u19, but in recent time Ind bowler are tending to slow down in their mid 20s--Mavi, Avesh, Akash Singh (csk) etc.....

Pitch was pretty slow and flat.  Still Managed to find something in the day in his second spell.

Hopefully he found ideal length for Adelaide.

Harshit is the reason why we won the match against PmXi ..when he came to bowl , they were batting well at 100 for 2 and He rocked them , took 4 wickets.

i liked few jaffa bouncers he bowled , 2 hook shots were caught by Prasidh and 2 clen bowled.  but i loved few bouncers he bowled , one or two were defended with difficulty and i guess the batsman got bowled as he was expecting a bouncer ( as the balls were simple full balls close to yorkers , batsman missed it)

Having seen Harshit in the test and in this match , few observations.

- he has the strength to bowl 3 to 4 bouncers in an over at high pace( one or 2 balls did not bounce above the shoulders but he kept 4 balls in an over upto the shoulders , thats why his full yorkers came as a HUGE Suprise and he could hit the wood). i was of the opinion that Prasidh would be the enforcer and would keep on bowling like that but Prasidh has not attacked the batsmen's body and hence his bounce has not got results. prasidh's full balls are a little slow and hence not effective. Prasidh does not look to be in his best form.

- Harshit has beaten Prasidh , even Siraj , Akashdeep and is the no 2 bowler in our line up after BOOM. I could not see Siraj's bowling today.

by chance if Harshit is not played in the 11 due to any specific issue's , our chance of winning will be very much reduced. Harshit and BOOM are match winning bowlers and also expect SIRAJ  to do some harm to Australian batting line up.

i guess these 3 are a good combo and they wont pick a 4th genuine pacer as Nitish is also bowling accurately.

washi is bowled before jaddu and even in batting washi was sent before jaddu indicates that washi will be played ( ash did not play the practice game indicates he wont play)

Jurel did not play today's match means he wont play test match 2 

rishabh was taking rest and will play.

jurel and padikal will be replaced by Gill and Rohit,

It will not be advisable to bowl too short at Adelaide with the short square boundaries. Hope Harshit adjusts his length accordingly. Will definitely play the second test.

Yeah ball travels fast in Adelaide as well.  Fast outfield.

Australia will definitely target him this time & come harder at him.

Nahid Rana bowls Mark Woods pace in test cricket. Donald has done a fantastic job. The dude is an express pacer and not just a white ball specialist , hopefully doent get injured and lose pace.

Injuries are inevitable, its how the bowler comeback after the injury. No fast bowler can remain injury free these days. 

He is proper 145+ kmph bowler who is able to get ~150 kmph, has an easy and economical action and has height and high arm action to generate bounce --A v.potent formula to be successful in test cricket.

 

Although bd team is know for their spinners but the system is supportive of their faster bowlers. Since murtaza they always tried to fast-track and develop faster bowlers. Murtaza, Rubel, Ebadot, Rana, Taskin, even fizz,Tanzim all were supported.

Mayank has not been able to bowl to his full potential after those 1sr 2 matches in IPL.

Right now it would be better if he gets fully fit and plays limited over cricket. Umran looks more robust in terms of fitness but then he is not that tall.

Umran will need to bowl full-tilt to be effective with his skiddy bowling.

Was actually quite disappointed by both Mayank’s pace and his attitude in internationals. I think he touched 150k only once. Also, his interviews in general were such a turn off. Kept talking about line and length as if he was ready with excuses for not bowling quick enough. 

Now unless he had some discomfort while bowling then that’s a different issue. Umran probably has a much better attitude towards pace but he’s not as naturally skilled as Mayank. But in pace he’s probably better.

 

And fitness is such a huge question mark. He should probably forget tests and focus on LOIs exclusively for a year. And try bowling those limited overs with full intensity. There’s literally no excuse for not going full tilt if he’s playing such few matches.

I heard his coach who is also Harshit's coach said..that Mayank is an emotional guy..who needs someones hand around hsi shoulder for support during bad times..whereas Harshit is strong and can manage himslef..

so I am not surprised..Mayank could have been easily manipulated into slowing pace..bowling line and length..body preservation stuff..but I also read his father loves pace..and knows he is nothing without pace..I hope better sense prevails..and he is able to be back at top fitness and top speeds..He was visually faster than Nahid..during IPL times..
