He played full SMA trophy and Vijay Hazare trophy before last year's IPL where he regularly clocked speeds of 150-152k. Then got injured and missed most of the IPL, just played one game at the fag end and then again injured.  He missed UPL too. That was the longest stretch he stayed fit since 2020. Played UPL then SMA trophy and then VH trophy back to back. He has recovered now and started bowling in the nets.

also as noted by other posters here...NCA or his mnetors..whoever they are..keep meddling with his actions..it doesnt help..if it keeps on changing..

That sounds totally BS; MS was a full-on BK lover, even more so than Brat, and Brat almost always preferred BK over anyone except Sharma ji ka dusra ladka in tests :cantstop:

MS had his fixed set of bowlers for tests, seperate from LOIs

He is also the same one who used to bowl Bhuvi only for 7, 8 overs up front and avoided bowling him at death despite Bhuvi developing a good yorker later and bowling at death in the IPL.

Bhuvi also made a statement about not being allowed to bowl at death and not being allowed to complete his quota of overs.

Another probable stress fracture for Nortje.

Looks like bowlers need to be super careful when they r trying to increase or get back to their workload after injury recovery.

Ohh..  he was just making come after injury in CPL, was nowhere near his top pace was bowling around 144 kmph max.

Too much workload plus hopping league to league is also problem with recovering bowlers. Think those t20 variations are causing these , they have to develop those new deliveries and implement them in match condition in v.short time previously bowlers used to work for month before they try-out new variation in match conditions.

Plus these slow balls and slow bouncers takes a lot where the arm speed should not change and yet ball has to come out slow takes a lot of articulation of back and shoulders.

SA are also in same boat as Ind now, burger is injured, Nortije is injured, Rabada coming after injury, Cortzee is injured too. good thing is they still have high pace bowlers like Mapakha, Bosh

It's injury that prompts change in action. Anderson changed his action several times during his injury struggle before 2010s.

They produce  pace bowlers more than anyone else mostly tall and bouncy ones

Don't feel like watching anything nowadays. Short sighted poor selections.

Indian TMs and selectors, in the last 3 years, are hell bent on making the brand of cricket as boring as possible.

Medium pacers, old batters tuk-tuking and darter spinners are the preferred lot. ( Only exception being the T20I batting after the WC )
