Needs to look beyond him.

Fastest I saw was 138.8 k. Another at 137.x k.

Shami was bowling a bit differently than what he did most of his career. Instead of trying to hit the seam at sharp pace like he usually did, he was floating the ball up for swing at medium pace.

How was his runup ?

I didn't see the game and highlights barely shown 3-4 deliveries.

Was he able to run at his full tilt or was running gingerly.

If it's latter, then I have hope that he may be taking things easy.

His was not running in gingerly. Maybe not at full tilt but not that badly either.

I think Shami will bowl quicker after a few games ... but will he reach his 2023 speeds even ?  Not sure.

I think Shami has lost his 140-145k plus pace. The same way Umesh finally lost his top pace in test matches. In fact even before the injury, he was far from his peak pace. I would say since 3 years the signs were there.

He’s had sufficient time to recover now. He’s played domestic tests and T20s since a few months now.  It’s fine and that’s bound to happen. He’s done well. He should continue focusing on the shorter format anyways. Good that the ipl ain’t that far away.

However, It’s time to focus on players like Harshit, Umran, Mayank before we lose them too. I don’t understand how the selectors don’t see the obvious. I bet any other top side would have focused on this lot. Also, read an article that Sen has recovered completely. Where’s Simarjeet / Tyagi ?! I hope they gets back soon too at the top level.

Best extract for me was that Sen wanted to play Tests. Thats his top priority.

If he bowls ~140 kmph in test that will be good format for him, he does not have those t20 kind of variation saw that in ipl.

But he has ingredients fr a test bowler, constantly around 140 kmph mark, bowls close to the stumps, v.economical run-up.

Yeah, I think Sen can maintain his pace. He looks athletic and isn't overweight.
Likes of Harshit, Sen, Prasidh, Himanshu, Yudhvir etc are suited for longest format.

Bowler who cannot bat should not be in t20i side(intnl. sides) unless they bring something unique like LAF, leg-spinner, mystery spin etc.

T20i is the toughest format you need v.different kind of  skill set for t20s

Latest Cricinfo Article Kuldeep Sen is fully fit and playing Ranji:flame:

Saw a few overs of Sen and he was erratic in the 1st innings. He bowled much better in the 2nd innings but the pitch was so shitty. One of the slowest I have seen. Sen was banging the pitch hard but the ball was hardly reaching the keeper.

Yeah, he was looking out of rhythm in first inns. Was spraying the ball and didn't get any movement off the deck as well.

Probably lack of match practice.

By second inns he was settled and was bowling a good line.

Pitch wise to I have no expectations. Domestic pitches are always extreme.

Umran should be in the playing 11 but he is warming the bench. Needs to play as many matches as he can this season.

They didn't play Yudhvir as well, despite getting MOM last game.

NCA project is on going.

Slow pitch. Baroda has prepared turning pitches.

JK played off spinner Sahil over Yudhvir who picked 4fer.
