He is there because he led side to few wins in limited overs. Everyone is calling for cook's head which is the norm typically . IN my memory Dhoni is the only one who was under no pressure even after severe losses..

The fact that there was no clear alternative saved him too. There was a clear case after 0-8 but there was no one ready at that point to take it up. Although according to Amarnath he was sacked but was saved by Srini.

Cook did win a series in India. I do not remember Dhoni ever winning a test series outside India against a major cricket nation. He has been boss in ICC events though.

Dhoni beats Cook hands down ...he could be 300 runs ahead with last wicket and would be spreading his field. The biggest problem is the psyche of his bowlers is so dented that even if you give McGrath, Akram, Hadlee or Ambrose ...he will end up giving the advantage to his opposition. He and his team have absolutely no confidence of getting 20 wkts overseas anytime soon.

Nobody currently is worse than Dhoni. You just need to look at his body language and lack of innovation when a partnership is building, even if it is a last wicket one. He just goes through the motions without any imaginative leadership, bowling changes or field placements.

I don't think anyone hats his captaincy in Odis. If they do, they are idiots. his captaincy in tests especially overseas is on another level. I don't think anyone can defend it. Hey we don't even see his chamchas defending his fielding in recent times. They showed up when he was batting and made some runs and disappeared when he was setting fields.

one should give benefit of doubt to dhoni. He has to bear an ageing side in english and auss tour, zaheer was injured in the 1st test vs england and was well past his best against aussies. However there is no excuse for cook, there was no ageing problem, very experienced seam attack(Anderson n Broad) unlike us and better spinner like swann, and even a good allrounder in making like stokes. yet they got pumelled by Aussies 5-0. And now 1-0 at home against SL. when sachin.dravid, laxman , zaheer n Harbhajan was performing well, Dhoni looked really good overseas. Even drawn a series against a STRONG SA side. Both are crappiest. But I still feel Dhoni an inch better than cook
