1. Perth 2008- where Irfan Pathan destroyed Australia after sydney fiasco in greenest of pitches. 2. Trent Bridge 2007- Where India won series in England after jelly bean fiasco. 3. Durban 2010- where sreesanth wrecked havoc. 4. Adelaide 2003- for Dravids great 200+ in Australia and Sir Aggy destroying Australia to draw series in Australia 1-1.

Perth came when we were 2-0 down and mostly conceded the series already.Maybe the atmosphere was charged up but that Aus team was on its last legs. With the team we had we really should have won the series.Lot of things fell in place for us yet we still messed up that series. For me its close btw this Lords win and the Durban in 2010. Both came in very adverse conditions and everything was stacked up against us including the toss and conditions. Durban Lords 14 Adeaide Perth Trent Bride Adelaide may be against an Aussie team wiithout Mcgrath and Warne but we were 80/4 in first inn chasing 500+ . To comeback from that and win against that Aus team was special. And to bowl out that Aus batting line up twice Sir Aggy :hail:

Lords 2014 for me is the least memorable overseas test win. Dhoni used all the wrong tactics and as soon as we criticized him, his strategy worked and that made us look like total fools. Before that, all our predictions used to be spot on and everybody thought of us as great cricket experts. But Lords 2014, that was a major blow to us arm chair specialists. :(( As I was dozing off during Dhoni's 79 run partnership with Vijay in the 3rd innings, I have deduced that his contribution was infact negative and that is my only solace.

Perth 2008 was not a green pitch by any means, 2012 was. There was a lot of hoopla that they will provide a real fast bouncy Perth track, but it did not turn out like that as Perth had slowed down over the years. They had played 4 seamers including Tait in hope for a pacey track. And no Pathan did not destroy Australia. All bowlers contributed equally likes of RP and Ishant, even Sehwag had a wicket. What helped Indian pacers was Feemantle Doctor which kept the swing going. Pitch did have enough bounce but was not the paciest Perth pitch.

for me it was Headingley /Adelaide/Joburg... gave the belief that we could win outside the subcontinent in all countries

Leeds 2002 , green wicket, overcast conditions, batting first, looked like we will get rolled ovver for under 200 like we used to do earlier in such conditions. A win on that wicket gave the team the belief that even on green wickets, we can pile on 500+ and bowl the opposition out.

in terms of impact the two australia wins were very memorable historically Durban may be win against the toughest opposition and also a very tough pitch Leeds and Lords are win in very tough conditions though against mediocre teams

Of course its the most memorable' date=' it only happned a few days ago, hence everyone remembering it and voting for it[/quote'] Yep. No need to make a big deal out of it. A win after 3 years got everyone exited.

Good to see Perth leading the pack now. :nice: From a pure cricketing standpoint, Adelaide 2003 and Durban 2006 were probably a lot harder, but all things considered, Perth is still India's most memorable test win abroad.

cric info's poll is showing the right result. I don't know why most of our posters here underrating the Lord's victory. Firstly, most of our players are inexperienced. The pitch suddenly became much easier to bat on the second day than the first when we were batting. It was not same like Durban where pitch and conditions didn't change through out the test match. And lastly, we didn't had those once in generation batsmen like sachin, dravid and laxman and not even a spearhead like Zaheer or even Bhajji. Our top batsmen like kohli, pujara were not up to the mark , shami had few fitness issues( wasn't able to bowl long spells), and then Dhoni's blunder to pick useless Binny. And still we won because of some herculean effort of Rahane, Bhuvi (both with bat n ball),Vijay, Ishant and jadeja ( while batting). Perth was special too because we had a young bowling attack with out zaheer and were trailing 0-2.

Asked to bat on a green pitch after losing by more than an innigns the previous match and then being rolled out for 200 odd. SA off to a good start and then bam all our for a low score. And we defended very well thanks to Sreesanths spell.

Durban was the best in terms of quality. Both sides have terrific bowlers and wonderful batsmen. (At least SA batsmen were not gifting their wickets to anything that is short :giggle:) sachin was at his peak, given 2010 was his best year(in test cricket). zaheer was bowling at his peak, he was not there at the 1st test, and his inclusion made our attack potent if not world class. That pitch was diabolic, even if it was not swinging it was bouncing like hell at times. That sreesanth's ball to kallis-it was more to do with the pitch than the bowler's effort. The pitch was hostile and remain same throughout the match. That special innings of VVS under those conditions was difference between the two sides. The lord's pitch was similar to Durban on 1st day but nothing like that afterwards. It was a lion-hearted performance from bhuvi to take those 6 wickets when conditions not that assisting and without any real spearhead to guide you. And then by ishant sharma coupled with some brainless batting by English batsmen. Durban was good because of the quality of cricket involved, but lord's wins the race because some incredible efforts and never-die attitiude of some inexperience players.

We always did well since 2000 in green tracks, its the flat pitches that is very difficult to win considering our quality of bowling. So I'd rate Adelaide 2003 as the greatest.. Who'd have thought we'd bowl out marauding Aussie batsmen twice and chase a 200+ target overseas. And also its the first time since god-knows-how-long since we beat the Aussies at their home at their peak era that too after conceding 550+ and being less than 100/4.

It's funny that in most memorable victories the man of the match is the who's who of the most hated cricketers on icf. Sir aggy, sreeshanth, irfan Pathan, ishant

My bad dravid was m.o.m in adelide
I would have given mom to dravid in perth too.his 90 odd was very important.
