the difference between Mitali Raj and Kohli/Pujara/Rahane is that she stands up to be counted. The way i see it Raj is the best batswoman/batsman in India. I hope the fat cats at the BCCI end up backing our womens team with full time contracts and they end up playing test cricket. Beating a full time English team with better funding and facilities on a green pitch is a tremendous achievement. Listening to it live. the commentators have showered praise on the resolve of this team. Its time Kohli took lessons from Raj. She grinded it out and played a captains innings to guide her team home.

I have to add the way Raj shepperded Pandey who was the night watch women was fantastic. Tremendnous running between the wickets and tremendous percentage cricket. Blocked when she needed to attacked when she needed to. Thats how you time the innings. Seriously impressed with her temperament as a captain (million times better than Dhoni) and her skill and cricketing brain. The English tail rebounded yesterday on an easing pitch but she kept attacking with her field positions and her main strike bowlers. Well done girls. Very happy for you.

its really refreshing after hearing the Dhoni pressers we listen to Raj. Its not just this victory. I last saw her speak on TV during the WC in India in which India crashed out at the first round. The truth is that the BCCI basically did not organise many fixtures for 2 years leading to that event which led to the downfall. That was the main reason. But Raj basically said it was the teams fault and they had fallen victims to temperament and that there was no excuse and it was not good enough. She did not mention any baloney excuse like the process is better than the result. Thats what makes Raj a better captain for me than MSD. She does not duck conferences and she tells the truth. Even during this presser she mentioned India were lucky to win a good toss. (which they were). Its the honesty from her which i admire the most. The English press are making a big deal of India's win and showering praises on the team. Was listening to dominic cork on talksport and he was full of praise for a focused Indian team who did not let anything intimidate them.
