Ram Posted September 24, 2014 Posted September 24, 2014 We national recognition awards for every tom, dick and harry cricketers but these scientists really deserve all the recognition they can get. They are the true heroes of this feat. So many of them could chosen to migrate to usa/eurpoe and they would have easily gotten into some of the world's premier research and academic institutions. Instead, they chose to stay home, work for a fraction of the salary they would have earned elsewhere and look what they have accomplished!

These missions have a low success rate, it will become embarrassing for you if things dont go according to plan..' and apparently modi told them if things fail then it is my primary duty to be there to console the scientists I like this man. I hate his past, but i like him

They should have let the scientists and engineers in charge of the mission take center stage and take part in press conferences or make speeches. Later in the day the politicians could have made their speeches and send congratulatory messages if they wanted to. Don't necessarily disagree with you but I am not sure why this is a big issue for you. It is the moment that matters. People today are talking about how apt was Namo's speech for the event. It is not about taking glory away from scientists. The only thing I would be critical about is that he was talking too long. Just 5-10 min would have sufficed.

The man praised the scientists like no leader has ever done before, put them above cricketers, asked school children to come early and watch this event. Glad that he was there.

Overall it keeps on generating enough finances, support, public interest to keep the Indian space exploration going.
