Gollum Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Nice to see someone giving it back and backing it by performance. Seekh isse Rohit Sharma.
Malcolm Merlyn Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Some Pakistanis are whining all over the internet.
Crookbond Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 I don't mind a bit of banter on the field but it seems Kohli takes it personally. It was pretty clear the way he played after he was hit by Johnson. He almost gave his wicket away. He needs to relax a bit and let his bat do most of the talking. It is easy to talk after you score a big hundred but every day won't be a Sunday. I don't like Kohli talking about it so much in the press conference. Keep it on the field. Maybe he could learn something from Ganguly here. He never used to hold back but he would not come and discuss that in the press conference. Kohli should just be as it is. As for the Ganguly never doing it at a press conference, how sure are you on that? There are multiple times Ganguly has gone for a player in the press conference.
CSK Fan Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 With the way India is going, something has to give to bring around a turnaround. I am hoping Kohli is that guy who is going to bring a completely aggressive turn around to Indian test team. India was right on top when he was in the middle.

At least it will be more fun to watch. I am hoping that it helps him bring the best out than making him lose concentration
Deleted_User_1 Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 You need to talk with your bat and leave it at that. Why do you think Sachin got sledged rarely and had the respect of the Aussies. Respect needs to be earned. If it was Sachin, he would have taken the blow, shook it off and moved on. When you mouth off, it looks good when you are on top, but when you are in a rut, vultures swoop in. Maybe I am old fashioned.
Crookbond Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 I don't know what & why people have an issue with the Kohli press conference. It was measured, perfect and eye-to-eye. Kohli can afford to do that and the very fact that Ryan Harris was for loss in words when asked to react says something about the impact of Kohli's words.

I think this is a first for you.
nevada Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 No he was lucky to be dropped first time and then got out chasing a wide delivery after another altercation with MJ +1. Kohli was rattled after that throw incident and nearly got out. And towards the end, he was needling Johnson and ended up getting out to him. What he said in the press conf. is cool, but I wish he would stay calm on the field.
goose Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 The best way to sledge the Aussies is to get their own public to turn on them. The greatest sledge of all time off the pitch was Kumble's 'only one team was playing cricket out there' in 2008. Kohli needs to work on his metaphors and be less direct when he flings the mud.

It is always better to watch the video than to just rely on a third party.
beetle Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 But does that have to with sledging' date='especially when you lose concentration?Rahane was as aggressive but didnt need such stuff.Made his bat do the talking[/quote'] Rahane was far more aggressive...and more effective. Kohli wouldn't have been able to say all this if he had got caught after getting upset.
Gollum Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 As much as I loved the PC it looks like Kohli was living dangerously after that Johnson incident, guy needs to make sure he isn't getting affected by this sledging business. Another day he might have been out for 88.
zep1706 Posted December 28, 2014 Posted December 28, 2014 Rahane was far more aggressive...and more effective. Kohli wouldn't have been able to say all this if he had got caught after getting upset. Agreed. He lost his rhythm after the spat with Johnson. Need to learn from this. Although he got the bragging rights in the end today, it won't be that way everyday.

Loved Rhino's 'OK' too:haha:

As far as Kohli goes, even I think he is taking the talking and sledging a bit personally, Johnson always does that but I really like his aggression
