Inzi was a FTB. His poor stats in Aus, SA, NZ, Eng speak for themselves. All he did was pile on lots of runs on batting pitches at home and Sharjah and that too (surprised to see from stats) at a slow strike rate. Dravid was a much better batsman across all formats.

wow..expected better stats from Inzi babu....strike rate is surprisingly low for an attacking batsman
well Inzi did make his ODi debut 5-6 yrs before Dravid. When Inzi made his debut 220-230 were defendable scores and 240-250 would almost guaranty a win. By the time dravid played his 1st ODI afridi had already scored 37 ball 100. You has the Sachin, Kalu-Jaya, laras opening and score almost run a ball. Not saying that is the reason why Inzi's SR isnt that impressive but it could be a factor.

Dravid was very good in 2002-2006 period in ODIs. Still couldn't get out of the image of slow batsman he got during early stage of his career. Inzi after 2003 world cup was hardly a good ODI batsman.

For prevention of run outs alone I would favor Dravid over Inzy :--D That being said, Inzy seems like a nice guy and I don't understand why he is being bashed so much.

Inzi for me. Inzi made his debut before Dravid hence the lower strike rate. Statistically Inzi is better as well as being a bigger match winner, won a lot of matches for Pakistan, and we may not have won the world cup without his 60 odd in 1992 semi final. Those saying Dravid are obviously biased.

I think they are very close in the run out. R Dravid (Asia/ICC/India) 1996-2005 249 29 11.65% Inzamam-ul-Haq (Asia/Pak) 1991-2005 322 38 11.80% :giggle:

Aloo was a better game changer in ODIs. But his records in WC was abysmal after his debut world cup. That shouldn't take away the fact he is a match winner.
Although his record in world cup is bad; without him Pakistan would never have won a world cup. He did his job in my opinion. And I'm not underrating Dravid here, he is my favourite Indian cricketer. Seems like a genuinely nice guy and is often overshadowed by Tendulkar. Definitely deserves more recognition than he has been given.

Purely as a batsman in ODIs: On flat pitches in the SC I would probably take Inzi as he had a higher gear to accelerate if needed. Outside SC Dravid any day.

It just takes 1 inning isn't it to be deemed a match winner for life? Inzi has just 1 innings of note in WC that too in 1992' date=' alebit a crazy one, and some folks hail him as the biggest match winner and all sorts of crazy stuffs. Darvid has done so much more in WCs and crucial matches but is always held inferior.[/quote'] ++

More like one inning.Averaged 22.5 in that WC much like other WCs
The innings came in Semi Final and the Finals. He man-handled the attack of the best team of WC '92

Lol' date=' WC 1992[/quote'] Please tell me who was highest scorer of 1999 WC.And I'm not talking of single innings

It has to be standardized for the era they played. Dravid Debuted around 1998 while Inzy did around 1991. Big changes in the game took place in between.

Who won the 1999WC? Pakistan was down and out. They needed won the group match against NZ who were unbeaten. Pakistan gets to the semis, and meet NZ again. in the semis he blasts 60(37) and sends NZ crashing out. Comes finals and he hammers 42(35) in the final to win it. Career defining knocks, and only second to Aravinda's back to back heroics in WC.

I know it's not right to define a career by one or two knocks. But it becomes a criteria when other things like average and SR becomes similar. Thing to note is Dravid has no innings of stature of Inzamam had. Dravid was machine like, some runs in every match. inzi was hot and cold, and when it clicked, he won the match for them.

Except for that 1 good innings in 92 WC, Inzi has not done a shyte all his career outside Asia. Infact, I don't remember any of his innings outside the sc..... I have been watching cricket since 1996 and can vouch for Dravids' memorable knocks in the 1999 WC, 2003 WC, WI 2006, NZ 1998, etc.....
