Even with failures from top-middle order bats, India managed about 270. Though we should have gotten more, but great to see India still converting poor starts into some good decent score. We could have been easily 120-6 or something like that, but Raina and Rohit played really well. Good to see Rohit establishing. His hundreds aren't just low hundred scores, he is converting it into 140ish, which is big difference for our team total.

Dhoni or Raina will come into action, perhaps even Kohli if he stays till the end with the tail. Our lower middle order is pretty used to batting with the tail and hence they we have often finished well. Our bats are good finishers whether it's Dhoni or Raina or Kohli, so it will help us with the tail too. Ashwin or Bhuvi stick around for 5 overs is possible. For Odi's, we have a pretty decent tail.

I think India blundered by not picking Yuvraj in this series and the world cup squad. Akshar Patel seems like he could be a good bowler but I think right now, as an all-rounder, the experience that Yuvraj would have brought would have been quite valuable. I think a 5-6-7 of Raina, Yuvraj, Dhoni just gives us a bit more depth in the batting than Raina, Dhoni, Akshar You could alternate between Yuvraj and Jadeja depending on form.

Batting looks weak to me. We have a great accumulator in Kohli, 2 great finishers in Raina and Dhoni. What about the others? Dhawan is garbage,pity Mooli was overlooked. Still not buying into Mr Inconsistent Rohit Sharma. Rayudu cannot play genuine pace and is too slow. Rahane isn't that good a ODI bat like he is in tests. So we have only 3 good bats and only 1 of them(Kohli) can make 100s. Compare it to 2011 where we had a genuine ATG batting lineup, probably the greatest batting line up in the history of the game along with the invincible Aussies OF 2007WC plus the fact that we then played in home conditions.

Why is Kohli batting at no4 ,is it to protect middle order or is it Kohli's desire. Why move him from his favorite spot just to compensate for other players inefficiency. Rahane in million years cannot fill Kohli's role at no3. This move itself might cost India world cup like Guru Greg's insane move of Sachin to no4.Let your best batsman bat at a position he is most comfortable and is best for him.
