India have never beaten SA in an ODI world cup match

I badly want to beat them. I can easily remember the 1999 wc game where we were about to win until South Africa showed grit under pressure and came back. That time South Africa was the team which Australia went on to be and became better so it was a great to see INdia putting up fight against them and having chance to win but we could not win. I hope we win this one. I think we have a pretty good chance.

That Saffer team was better than the current one. They batted all the way down to 10 with Boje. Packed with real allrounders Kallis Klusner Pollock Boje Cronje and a strike bowler in Donald. That 1999 world cup was frustrating from an Indian POV. In the group stages we pushed South Africa the closest in the group stages but somehow fell to Zimbabwe (which highlighted how much we depended on Sachin as he was away due to his fathers death) I am 100% certain that South africa threw the match v Zimbabwe for tactical reasons. feck Cronje, that a hole got what he deserves. Had they not done that England would have been through and India would have a strong hand in the super 6 (where we defeated Pakistan) While others felt sad for them I was really happy that Australia beat them in the way they did. A lot of people forget that Cronje played a very tactical hand by letting Zim win, effectively sealing India's fate and weakening India. It was a deliberate tactical move. One can say they threw the game, but only they know. If you see Gary Kirsten getting out first up to Neil Johnson, I think they ball was just beauty. So I think Zimbabwe did play well too. One game I do know which was played slowly was Aus vs Windies. It was Australia's tactics to chase 110 in 40 overs against Windies so that NZ can be thrown out of the world cup. Glad that did not happen as Windies were crashed out eventually. In that game vs Windies, Australia and Steve Waugh were booed by the crowd.

If it was GABBA or Perth we would have zero chance.But its in MCG .We even scored 270+ against Aus attack there.It should help spinners as well if it used pitch.We have a pretty good chance this is a very average SA team unlike the past too

SA has been too strong for India in non-pressure games. At Melbourne' date=' if spinners can do magic tricks, Ind has a chance .... Chances are we will get to see some [b']unorthodox cricket from ABDV and our bowlers could appear clueless

Unorthodox cricket might not work at MCG like he did against WI because it is a big ground and not like that South African ground with short boundaries. Ball is not going to fly for 6s at MCG like Wanderers.
