So I know Pakistanis don't care when a punjabi like Harbhajan plays for India, but we kinda still feel proud when Ganguly leads India. So please don't confuse us with Pakistani's. Yes even in Bangladesh there is 10% -20% religious extremists but they will always be in the minority as bengali nationalism trumps it. Even compared to India's society I think we are a more secular and tolerant society. Unlike in India (where there are muslim neighbourhoods), we don't have any segregated areas based on religion. I see so many of my friends with hindu girlfriends which I have rarely seen among my Indian friends. Even in the Bangladesh team, Soumya Sarkar is a hindu and no one sees him differently. In fact are just waiting for the debut of our new batting sensation Liton Kumar Das. Just curious. Do Bangladeshi Hindus support Indian team when Bangladesh is not playing or do they remain neutral ?

Not saying they should but wondering. They support India when India is playing Pakistan or any other team. But they always support Bangladesh when we are playing against India. Maybe if Bangladesh played West Bengal they may support West Bengal. But a Bangladeshi hindu I think won't support a team comprised of Punjabis and Marathis and people of the Hindi belt. But I now a lot of Indian muslims supporting Pakistan in India Pakistan matches. In this way Bangladeshi Hindus are lot more patriotic than Indian muslims.

In this way Bangladeshi Hindus are lot more patriotic than Indian muslims. The only Indian Muslims I've seen support Pakistan are Kashmiris. Indian Muslims are usually staunch supporters of India. I'll be surprised if it's any different with Bangladeshi Hindus. Religion cannot be associated with a country.

Similar to Indians, nation comes first for Bangladesh .. thats why, Indians and Bangaldeshis get along in Canada, States or the UK.. never seen Bangladeshis getting along with Pakistanis.....I personally have so many Bangladeshi friends and they are proud to speak Bengali (Unlike Pakistani who forcefully use Arabic)... Also they have kept their culture intact unlike Paksitanis who try to emulate Arabs and fail miserably.. I think they also recognize the fact that their ancestors were Indian Hindus which Pakistanis are in denial :cantstop: ... the way Bangladeshi celebrate the wedding and their dressing is very similar to Indian Hindus and Indian muslims..also Bangladeshis don't bring religion into every topic.. unlike Pakistani, who would use words like Inshallah even while speaking to a Hindu .. In a way, I see a lotsa similarty between Indian muslims and Bangladeshis.... Big time nationalistic folks who love their country and proudly practice their religion in private:two_thumbs_up::two_thumbs_up:

India has a 100 year cricket history and is a country that is several times our size both in area and population. Your cricketers may have more ability and exposure but that should not stop us to dream. In 1971 when we got out indepence, the then US Secretary of State Kissinger thought Bangladesh would be the "international basket case" as West Pakistan had all the industries and resources and it was a huge mistake that we separated. But we dreamed that if we were not discriminated against we would flourish. Now we have an economy growing at double the pace of Pakistan's economy, have foreign currency reserves that are 50 % more than what Pakistan has and we export significantly more than Pakistan. Plus our Human Development index is better than both India and Pakistan and we have some of the largest NGOs of the world in Grameen Bank and BRAC. Good post. You are probably the 'Utalk' of BD. Many people here actually look at BD favorably, but for the extremists in either side. Much more favorably than Pak, which is well deserved. The day the immigrants from BD are given work visas then it would be good for both countries,more tax for BD govt and lesser internal security nightmare for India. Its just the overly loud (to be fair, baseless) bravado from the fans, and even some of the players, that just elicits the natural response...

I see all of us having big mouths, if someone goes through this forum and read the comments then they will get sick because of our comments. I already mentioned that this is a very big moment for Bangladesh and they are very excited and sometimes they can't control their emotion. are we playing in QF first time? Those big mouth guys should know even before their birth India became world champion.

Bangladesh has a fighting against odds, underdogs mentality but don't show grace n respect n thus loose that from other fans n opponents,although they have gained a bit in last ten years ,hopefully their cricket blossoms, we Indians also have been prejudiced n racist then even whites n I have seen that where I remember the WI were called M@@@keys n what not by the Bombay crowd also our society is becoming communally polarized n Gujarat is shockingly sad there.

In a serious discussion, they will all come along and wish good for all the good stuff. This is online forum FFS. Do not expect people to be politically right all the time. Its a place where people vent out. You see so many such comments because we have a large population so we have larger percentage of such impatient posters who jump the gun the moment they see opportunity. Batting was too slow for 35 overs, we dropped catches and bowled way too short at the end of the Bangla innings. have to improve to compete against Australians in the Semi's...
