At the moment though, I just get the feeling that they are just not motivated enough to play good cricket. Contract disputes, deserving players (Bravo, Pollard) not being picked is weighing alot on their performances. But, if they can get their act together, they can beat many top teams.

Pak pacers can do it for them, Australia are prone to succumbing to over aggressive batting. West Indies have the big hitters who can easily clear the short boundaries and put Nz under scoreboard pressure but they must negotiate the early swing for that.

And SL's bowling is not good enough. And other than Dilshan and Sanga, no one is threatening in SL's batting unit. So I think SA has a slight edge in this match. If they bat first they have a good chance to win. Eventhough history and SL bowlers and their middle order works in SA's favor, SA will still choke and Sri Lanka will be through to the Semi final. I guess Dilshan will score a 100 and the match is gonna be like theirs in 2009 Champions Trophy match. India v Bangladesh Only way it's possible for Bangladesh to win is if India posts something around 250 while batting first. Bangladesh have some pretty good chasers. But I don't think they have bowlers to restrict us to 250 so India wins this one. Australia v Pakistan However slim is the odds, I predict a rematch of 1999 WC group match and Pakistan goes through to semis. I still feel Australia and its batting is over rated. Their batting can crumble against genuine pace bowling. New Zealand v West Indies WI have a decent chance of winning only if they bats first and post around 315. I don't think that is happening and my pick is New Zealand.

In cricket anything could happen, however some points to consider: Cons for Pak * Pakistan's fielding - Dropped catches could prove fatal * Pakistan's bowling - They have enjoyed success by bowling short. However, at Adelaide, Aus would love to face short bowling (short side boundaries as well). Porterfield was brilliant vs. Pak, Aus has many Porterfields * Pakistan's batting - Haven't performed well against quality attacks. Sarfaraz has been a good addition, but can he perform in 3 games in a row and under KO pressure has to be seen :hmmmm: Cons for Aus * Pressure - The ability to handle pressure in KO games is unproven. Aus has not won many ICC KO since CT 2009, iirc * Aus batting - Look's great on paper but we saw what happened vs. NZ. A few good balls by Pak can turn the game Overall, I think Pak will have to have an extraordinarily great game or Aus a bad one for an upset to happen - you gave the example of 1999 group game, however it could turn out to be like the 1999 final too :dontknow:
