My concern against Australia is that we may loose too many wickets by power play and that'll throw away our plan.. Today, for example, if Raina was given out around 32nd, 33rd over that would have pack us back at least 50 runs... Dhoni would have played slow and so in PP.

Very genuine and right concern and that is why I believe that Rahane is really important for us in the middle. We shouldn't looking it as him slowing things down, he can hit fast too, it's just that his approach can help us reach the total we want in the times of disaster. I think we should stick to our batting line up the way we are going right now. I remember before 2011 world cup and in the middle of the world cup people were that there is no value of Gambhir in the batting line up since we already had Kohli who was in form. Gambhir's real value was shown and proved in the toughest of games and in the highest of pressure situation. Similarly Rahane is what Gambhir was to us in 2011. I hope we realize that.

If we face Oz in the semifinals, my concern is that the short bowling tactic we have been using against other teams may not succeed so much, death bowling (which has not been tested so far) will leak runs, and the batting will not be able to recover if there is an early collapse like we have been having for the last 2 matches.

Our batters were under pressure. Rubel could've picked wickets. Anyways, all hypothetical. But, I feel that were given a reprieve. Won't happen against Aus or NZ. Maybe not even SA now.

i am more confident that our bowlers will bundle out the aussies quickly.we did great in the bowling department 2003 wc,CT 2013 and now.opening partnership and finishing the innings is still an issue

Yeah. I think may be just a slight bit of over confidence there among players theywill definitely hit 300 if they keep wickets. I think we should have still rotated more strikes early in 10-30th over as you pointed out since Australia/Pak will pose higher problems in middle overs if we are in such position and perhaps won't allow us to 300 mark like Bangladesh did.

The problem with that is, with the ball doing a little something in aussie conditions, the chance of losing wickets first up increases a lot. If 2 - 3 batsmen can keep their wickets and come to the party, we will get a good score anyway. And to prevent australia from running away, nothing better than getting a couple of early wickets.

Would like India to bat opponent out of the game if the chance arises but not part of their current game plan. Think 2003...game was over before India batted.

Raina again showed how important role he plays is for this team, he, Kohli and Dhoni are so good in rotating the strike and that releases so much pressure. Don't have confidence of Raina against Australia but Scg shouldn't have too much bounce. If he plays sensibly he will survive. We really need him

I don't think we should make Aussies into something bigger than they really are , other than Starc everyone in their bowling can be hammered.If they limit Starc they can score against everyone else. Indian bowlers and Dhoni, can they remain calm if Aussies get off to strong start is the main question.Aussies have too much fire power with bat if they click there is no bowling unit which can stop them but if there is some spin then Indians are in business.

Rahane has the game to do well in any situation and against any attack . Hes a less powerful version of Raina . The problem is that he gets frustrated pretty quickly . Even today he was actually timing a lot better than Rohit in that partenership , but constsntly finding the fielders ...he needs to understand that these things happen & not let it affect his game .
