Number Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 I feel it won't hurt much to me. We already have 2 world cups and one is the most recent one. The only player who'll be retiring soon is Dhoni and he has one WC already. Rest of the guys are young enough and good enough to win another in the next 8 years. Second thing, we will get beaten by hosts and outright favorites due to home advantage. Anywhere else in the world we should be beating them. So all in all, if we win I'll be extremely happy. If we lose, there'll be nothing to feel bad about. The team has played really good cricket to earn the respect and hopes for the future. Only little disappointment will be that we won't have world champions tag anymore, that's it.

Also Dhoni has conditioned us how to handle losses :cantstop: . Reason it is a gut-wrenching affair for teams like SA, Bangladesh they have never been in those positions. Being in finals, being in semis.. We have been in final thrice, won twice. For them it is a landmark in their cricketing history. Once SA gets there watch out for them. They will start to win a lot more.

Its what minnows/losers think to guard themselves in case they lose, so it wont affect them emotionally. As far as World Cup is concerned, its all or nothing. Nobody remembers the runner ups or semi finalists. Its the CHAMPIONS who matter. World Cup comes once every 4 years and next time, we may not get the chance. This is a great opportunity and the team should try to make the most of it and give everything they got. If they are beaten by a better side, then kudos to them.

But as the WC has gone home, I haven't totally written India off, but at the same time they've done what I had expected of them. Having come this far, being content with just a semi final place isn't enough
vvvslaxman Posted March 24, 2015 Posted March 24, 2015 I don't think they are going to think like that "We have done enough". From a fan's perspective we expected far worse results. India is a professional side. If they lose most likely it will be due opposition turn up big time.
