In some respects, this match was similar to Kolk 2001. This was the first time in the history of Indian cricket that they won an away match after conceding a massive first innings lead. When both teams had played out their first innings, only one result appeared possible - a massive Australian win. Even that score of 237 looked impossible at one stage. But India turned around the fortunes in the second innings inspite of numerous problems - three Indian bowlers were having serious injuries - Kapil was so badly injured that he could not bowl at all for a day when India needed him to. Yadav and Doshi were playing inspite of fractures. Ghavri was the only fit bowler, yet India shot out the Aussies for 83 to seal the match by 60 runs.
