Ironhide
Let Pujara fail in this county vacation, he will fight back, anyway there is no first class cricket going on in India, so let him have a good vacation and practice in England. As for naysayers repeating "Pujara is done" on every page of this thread will be the same ones praising him to be real test player and next dravid etc when he gets back in form. Link to comment

He does have some distinct qualities about his batting. Couple of years back we did not even contemplate on dropping him as he was going to be part of the nucleus of the Indian side. Having said that it doesn't matter how he does in county. It has zero relevance when it comes to selecting Indian squad. Link to comment
YCCC
He did at least make an important contribition today, taking a good catch to get rid of the dangerous Carberry and start a Hampshire collapse Link to comment
msb1991
The whole point of a county stint is improvement, not being awesome from ball 1. If one could play the county bowlers like children, what good would it be? Link to comment

YCCC
In Slips? At deep square leg. Carberry swept Rashid trying to bring up his ton is style but got a top edge on it. He later described it as " the most foolish thing he has ever done in cricket Link to comment

Texan
92* Pujara finally getting his act together. Strike rate is 60. That is what he needs to maintain. He was getting too much in a shell. Link to comment
YCCC
And he's done it. Very well done Che, hard work paid off at last :hatsoff: Link to comment
G_B_
i think this is what he needs to do maintain a good strike rate and look to score. Even the best defence in the world will eventually be found it. You should aim to be between 50-60 per 100 balls in test cricket unless the pitch is a real minefield. There is nothing wrong as such in his technique. Its just a mental thing whereby a positive attitude pays dividends. For one you get a couple of 4s in the opposing captain does back off in terms of field placements and the bowler too does respect you more. Cant just let people bowl to you. Listening to the commentary live and the pitch has eased up a bit. Still this must be a huge confidence booster for him. Very happy. Link to comment
