I guess Heaven needs a great commentator in it's ranks, he was a wonderful player as well, Rest In Peace ohhh great one. "When asked by fellow commentator Mark Nicholas if he’d had a rough year, Benaud responded with his classic, dry wit. “Roughish,” he said, with a trademark grin." :hatsoff: I will always remember his catch cry "Ohh what a innings, what a innings."

Seriously, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to say that Richie was one of the people who got me interested in cricket in the first place, and that was even before I knew of his decorated playing career. To me, he was the voice of cricket every Australian summer (and was in the UK too up till the end of the 2005 Ashes series). He once famously said something to the effect that he'd never seen a winter in about 40 or 50 years (or maybe even more). RIP Legend.

He actually said his goodbyes a few days ago to his close friends from what we are hearing. Great innings Richie, you have changed the way cricket is today. Rest in Peace.
