He looks very promising but needs to be given at least one year before we even consider him in LOIs. Yeah and plus it would not be fair to likes of Rayadu and Binny who have not been given proper chances to showcase their tailunts.

Even in the last 2 they were crunch knocks. Our tail starts after Dhoni with current line up. This guy would be handy in place of Jaddu .

In modern one day cricket with 4 fielder outside rule you need a strong lower order to make use of it in the late overs. Jaddu, Ashwin, Shami, Umesh, Mohit - None of them can do this. Dhoni himself is regressing. It is a highly imbalanced unit we have now. So his addition will only help us.

Yuvi was picked straight from u 19 days and he remained as a odi player. If you want him to remain as a odi player, pick him right away but if you want him to perform even in test matches, let him play couple of seasons in Ranjis. Only fast bowlers who has the ability to bowl 145 plus should be picked at an early age.

I'm not sure about Hooda's U19 performances, but Yuvraj was exceptional at the time he debuted and was the MoS in the U19 World Cup. Hooda hasn't played even 10 FC matches yet. Needs a good season before being considered IMO.

MK55 Posted April 12, 2015 Posted April 12, 2015 Hooda should be drafted in. We have got zero power hitters in the lower middle order. I can understand us being cautious had we got some good players in our current squad. The existing hitters are pathetic. He seems to be a very clean striker on both sides of the wicket. Hopefully he also has a decent technique to handle the short balls. He'll get more opportunities to bat against quick bowlers where he could be tested. He'll be coming down the order and most international tracks are flat. Handling swing is not a requirement in his case. Unlike some other domestic prospects, this guy has conspicuously more power in his shots.

He's had more failures than success in domestics. Dunno how you came up with that number "2". No one is saying he is a bad player, he's just not ready for internationals yet.
