But i am really wondering what has happened to Jadeja. He was the world No. 1 ranked bowler just an year ago.
He struck a purple patch I guess. I mean as a spinner, he can barely control the spin he gives to a ball (I remember Warne pointing this out). His batting has always been so-so with the occasional useful inning.

At the moment I would say Jadeja is actually third in the pecking order of left-arm spinner/lower order slogger hopefuls: 1. Pawan Negi 2. Axar Patel 3. Ravindra Jadeja Perhaps, if there is another one I didn't think of, he might get pushed further down.

Hooda Axar is just as useless as Jadeja so far

K I thought u were referring to spin/ low order hitting ARs .
Hooda could still make sense as primarily a lower middle order batsman and part time bowler (like Raina does). But we already have many of these. Rohit Sharma also bowls part time off spin. With Ashwin almost a certainty in the team, there is perhaps a spot open for either a left arm spinner or a leg spinner. Personally, I would prefer to have 3 spinners - Ashwin, Negi and Mishra for matches in India.

Negi's death over slogging is pretty awesome. He was hitting faster bowlers too. He is using Gayle like technique...by moving his feet away , taking an open body position and then swinging the bat. His bowling looks very ordinary though. He gets very little turn and just puts the ball gently there.
