Lannister Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Oh my God, at least get the Gandhi's name correct you moron.
NareshK Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Love the idea. Tests against SA, Eng, Aus, NZ are fun. Seeing as how we are playing them regularly, there is a case for making pitches more seamer friendly at home so we can adapt and play much better when we tour these countries. We dont play much in SL, BD, UAE, Pak anyway, so we dont have much to gain by playing on slow, low turners. We could struggle at home initially against foreign teams but will make us a better overall team in the longer run in tests.
mishra Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 @ Mods. Please correct the spelling in the title of thread

Cos At home we have genrally impeccable record
Gollum Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 No need to bring politicians. I say name it Kallis-Tendulkar Cup, 2 of the greatest players from RSA/Ind respectively and also contemporaries who were locked in epic battles for over 15 years. Also Sachin deserves to have a marquee series named after him. 4 tests every 2 year, AWESOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOME.
NareshK Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 You mean struggle away series. Cos At home we have genrally impeccable record I meant if we change the nature of pitches at home, then we will lose advantage and may lose initially but playing on seamer friendly wickets will help us adapt to those conditions and will help us win both home and away in the long run and become a more consistent test side. If we keep preparing slow and low turners at home, it will always be tough when we tour overseas. This is a risk we should be willing to take to become a really good side.
Old guy Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I find India South Africa tests quiet boring tbh. why ? i look back in past 2-3 series and there have been absolute great matches just look at that drawn game where abdv and faf almost chased huge score .. series before that was so fun and even at home when we do not make pattas tests are close and its a never given that we will win at home against them so its quite fun for me ..
G_B_ Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 should have happened much earlier. Probably held up for Lorgat. This is also probably the BCCI way of compensating CSA for loss of champions league t20 cricket.
NareshK Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I find India South Africa tests quiet boring tbh. Another retarded post among the many others from you. I dont think you even watched Joburg or Durban test or even the Kolkata test in our last home series. If you found them boring, test match cricket is not for you.

Given choice between Cricket greats vs Father of nations , I would take the later simply on basis of sheer imagination it generates among populace. We should have celebrated Africas return to cricket with a bilateral series between India and South Africa. Just associating the name of Gandhi and Mandela, two greatest souls to have ever walked on the planet in itself raises the importance of the cup in the eyes of world. We dont want another Border Gavaskar trophy which only lives with memories of fans of the two.
Gollum Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 I find India South Africa tests quiet boring tbh. IMP India-RSA test matches are closely and fiercely contested with neither side giving an inch, love them.
G_B_ Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 i think the pitches have been disappointing in this series.
BeautifulGame Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Am I the only one finding the name of the trophy slightly weird . Anyway great news otherwise particularly 4 tests regularly
BeautifulGame Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 So we will play 5 test series every two years with England 4 test series every 2 year with Australia and South Africa This means we will have big home series every year with England / Australia / SA and another team on rotation . Hopefully we settle on a home season btw November and February
mishra Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 ^ Veena is supposed to be hanged or something. I mean literally hanged
yoda Posted June 3, 2015 Posted June 3, 2015 Regular series is a good idea, they should have named it after cricketers and not freedom fighters. Cricket isn't that important to invoke the names of these greats.
