He and players like Dravid have had that "Mental Game" which we keep hearing often from senior players. Yes, ths is what they have pocessed all these years which is more important at international level than the technique.

IN his U19 days, there was another guy from Mumbai, his fellow opener Vinayak Mane, who I thought was far more talented than him, Ramakant Achrekar, thought he would make it to Indian team first. Both were good in their U19 days but Mane fell away, didn't improve or might not have that mental fortitude that Gambhir had despite his limited talent and made it to Indian team. Mane does not even feature in Mumbai Ranji team now.

If Mathew Hayden made a comeback at 30ish....then why not gambhir......Good 3 to 4 years of cricket is left in him

MCcricket Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Gambhirs handling of Delhi bowlers was poor, he side stepped Suyal n Other seniors not happy with him, and dunno why the looser trundlers get picked up for Delhi all the time Narwal, Suyal did great 5 seasons before that and was ave 25 and Gambhirs became captain n did not support him after he came back from someinjury

Ganguly made a successful comeback,haydenm made a great comeback ,even mckenzie was good when he began opening with smith. Gambo can still play 3 years with high standards,I believe he can be drafted in the middle order ,in odis he can be our new #4

Show me one instance of him playing well against spinners and I will show you 5 where he fared miserably. He is one of the worst players of spin bowling I have seen don Indian colors.
