Is anybody worried about Virat Kohli?

So, guys, what's exactly wrong with Kohli at the moment? Because when I look at stats, it tells me that he averaged nearly 90 in his last full test series (held over the turn of this year). His average in ODIs has been slightly lower, 31.5 from 15 ODIs this year. 15 ODis is a bloody small sample to judge anything. He had a bad CB series, but came back strongly in the World cup when it mattered, and had a quiet 3 match series in Bangladesh. So just 3 ODIs effectively that's cause for concern? Lol, we aren't fans, we are wrist slitters.
When did he come back strong in WC? Apart from Pak game, what else did he do? Flopped against SA, WI, Zim, Bangladesh (QF) and Australia (SF). Him and Amla have 2 WC failures in this batting era.

Not really when that sport enables you earn millions. He could only meet Anushka because he is a successful sportsman and earns millions and got the opportunity to work in a commercial with Anushka due to being a popular cricketer. Imagine same thing happening with you or me' date=' it wont take long for the company to kick people like us if we start having bad days due to some reason.[/quote'] He earns cos deserves it . if he decides tomorrow he has to choose Anushka over Cricket , we are no one to question it . you spend hrs watching and talking about cricket , but is that really productive in your choice of career ? wouldn't you earn more or do better if you stop indulging these things ? stop spending time with your girl/wife ? its not a distraction , but just a part of your life . As rest of us seek balance cricketers do as well . Some times we should not forget these guys are a lot more dedicated than any of us and sacrifice a lot staying away from family for months . its not always about money .

I am not saying he shouldn't be with Anushka or questions his personal life, not at all. I just replied about your comment that it is just a sport. It is more than a sport. It is a professional job like many others do too.

Yaar I don't watch news channels at all. Atleast not related to cricket stuff. Too busy anyways. What these news channels do is PATHETIC.
I was not pointing to particular persons. It is obvious for anyone(even me)to think about it(personal life),but suddenly I scrap it out of my mind that it can't be that issue. But these news channels have major part in this.

His 33 against WI was his natural game.Started attacking from very first ball even though Taylor was bowling very well and got out of poor short.

Yeah bro...I loved his WI innings but he got out. Fair enough we can remove that. It was a fluent knock even if he didn't score much. Apart from that, he was unfortunately scratchy in all almost other games.

Temporary rough patches are part of a cricketer's career. He should target big double centuries no 130s, 120s. when he hits form again. India essentially depend on him and Rahane in the coming years. Others are hopeless . M Vijay at best will have 2 or 3 years. Rest are technically found wanting.

Virat Kohli is a very good player of pace and bounce...period....Therefore his success in South Africa and Australia...has a poor technique in swinging conditions, hence the failure in England and NewZealand tests except the last innings of the last test where a player had just got a 300...plain and simple. No Anushka factor or any other BS...Just the technique...but given his mental fortitude and determination,it's only up from here

Duh he failed in BD as well, he failed in his familiar territory of one dayers as well where matches were held on flat pitches. Nothing to do with swing.

In terms of Temperament and ability against other styles of bowling he is top class.

:giggle::giggle: Yes, but it's a very big flaw though.

There is nothing wrong with VKs technique against swing , infact hes one of the better ones if he is n the right frame of mind . Its pretty easy for him to cover even outrageous swing if he cuts out on some of the percentage shots . Just cos he had a bad tour dont come to that assumption .Even in England he wasnt getting beaten cos of swing . Its the likes of Rohit and Dhawan who have a technique which has no fix rather . He needs to watch some one like Kallis who has similar technique and start leaving out as many balls .

4 games as captain' date=' 4 centuries.[/quote'] No wins yet. Reminds me of the way Matthews started his captaincy too but SL won a few at least.

Wins are out of Kohli's control cos its a team game. Cmon that's an unfair criticism. 4 centuries as captain in 4 tests is AMAZINGGGG.

Personally, I'm very happy with his batting form and I hope that he sustains it throughout. However, he needs to evovle as a captain (which is separate from his batting of course).

His biggest downfall is chasing deliveries and not leaving enough balls, which is the very basis of surviving in swing conditions. No matter how good a technique you have if you chase the good deliveries then you will nick one...
