Even in the post-match interview he mentioned the batting ineptness and didn't mention the howlers or DRS even once (from what I read). His selections may not be the best but we still have to see if he will change his selections based on performances or not. If he has faith in someone like Rohit and gives him several chances but is willing to drop him if he continues failing, then it is perfectly fine.

Let aside captaincy, he is never even going to be a great player. I 100% accept that Kohli has all the potential in the world to become a ATG. But his hot hotheadedness alone is enough to pull him down. His lover-boyishness is just a catalyst. Name one player in the world who had a long career with these traits. There have been more great players with bad attitude (Ponting is an example of sheer rudeness, etc) But those characters only caused problems to others and not for themselves. But this guy's nature i enough to plough him down. Don't say he has tone down himself. He hasn't even downed it a bit. Don't say he will mature. The dude is going to turn 27 in three months. While his character is going to be a serious problem for his career as a batsman, it is completely going to blow him off as a captain. Never ever a captain with his nature has been a successful one. Also India has a track record of great players (especially prodigies) failing miserably as captains. So the sooner he is replaced the lesser the damage will be to the team and to him.

A few stupid umpiring decisions gave enough room for SL to come back. The batsmen did a good job in first innings, and there is a collapse on 4th innings. When you have the likes of Nohit in the batting line up and with Rahul failing and a long tail, we all saw this coming right? Credit where it's due, SL played extremely well in the 4th innings. A loss can happen, please don't over react.

youngindia Posted August 17, 2015 Posted August 17, 2015 he has some impractical immature views that require change ASAP. as long proper bowlers are not being developed, he has a problem....right now Ashwin is the only good story here...ishant is flattering in some conditions but he has to show more consistency he can even select even 11 bowlers and they will still struggle to take 20 wickets. his priority is to develop 3 to 4 bowlers with excellent to decent averages...this is the ONLY WAY to take 20 wickets.. all this nonsense about 4 OR 5 or 6 bowlers won't help one bit.its a waste of everyone;s time.. he cannot expect lower batsmen to bat....ashwin should be accepted for what he is and he is a lower 30 average batsman.that's it..this is real life...not a movie the top 6 batsmen should have the class to average above 40. saha is at best a n07..ashwin is at best a no 8.
