If you want to nitpick...Richards scored the 180 against a SL side that was equal to Bangladesh in those days,Kapil scored against Zimbabwe,Ganguly well against a decent team but with only one decent swing bowler in Vaas and A Toothless Murali(on that day) But yes even I will rate Kapil or Gangly's innings given the situation on that day as better but playing 50 overs with that kind of hitting takes some stamina...so credit where due :hatsoff: Also this is pretty much A list SL bowling except Malinga......Herath is only a test specialist

I am neither a hater nor a bhakt. But I want Rohit to to succeed for India because he has potential to win matches for India consistently. The pitch was not that flat ... there was bounce. Plus, swing and seam movement were on offer. Plus ... scoring 264 in 50 overs is never easy ... even though the bowling was pathetic. Because Rohit has this ability, which he showcased yesterday, it seems strange that he has been so inconsistent especially outside the subcontinent. He has only one 40+ score in 10 test innings outside ... an innings of 72. He plays the short ball well and hence should really improve outside the subcontinent. It is his application that raises questions from time to time. Hopefully he improves on that. .

I mean yes people have recognized it well but 264 IS A big big deal and I thought we will have threads all over the place today on ICF on this or at least news all over media like when Tendulkar or Sehwag hit a double ton earlier. Well done Rohit. You don't have to be a particular player fan to enjoy someone's success. I am happy an Indian has done it. More power to him and hopefully he continues his consistent run.

It just comes to you if you have been fan of your team or are a patriot or Nationalistic person which one should be if he follow his country sports. It will be great for Indian cricket if Rohit can do some damage in the world cup in totally different conditions. Chasing 250-270 or putting that score will be challenge and grounds will be bigger and not many spinners will come to bowl, this is where we will be test and I am looking forward to it.

Regardless of the highway, we should keep the FTB talk only when both the teams are scoring about the same amount of runs. India have been mauling them by over 150 runs. It was one man show yesterday.
