he is test fit difference b/w rohit n kohli, rohit can play long innings. kohli will make more centuries, but, his average will be 120-130. I had said this in past also, kohli will end up with more centuries, but not huge runs, like 180-190 regularly.

Given 10 chances , he will hit a century and a fifty and fail in other 8. This has been hallmark of his one day career too for the past 5 years. I'll take 5 good innings for 10 chances but he doesnt show any consistency whatsoever.

Now that he is considered a "long term prospect", he should be persisted with for 10-12 tests before jumping to conclusions. He has had 3 bad innings, but that doesn't mean he will not have another bad series. So once his Test averages reaches below 35 (i.e. after completing 10-12 tests), the conclusions can be drawn, till then just wait for the inevitable. :nice:

Its ok that we carry around an extra baggage in ODIs because we are very strong in the format, especially at home. But to wait for Rohit to click when India is playing tests abroad is stupid!! The boy looks scared, its as if he doesn't belong there. I thought the big scores against WI at home were irrelevant but atleast it built his confidence but he looks like he's making his début all over again?!! India needs EVERY batsman to contribute when playing tests abroad. AT LEAST get starts of 20s-30s, this will help the overall teams cause. If he is struggling in conditions like SA and very soon NZ and England, then he should tour with the 'A side' and work on it!! But letting him ride along with the national team, under the hope it will play dividends is not sensible. Not a luxury a touring India side can afford!!

thats kind of what people had been saying about him in ODIs all these years. He proved everyone wrong there and he will do the same in Tests. Just give him some time - this guy is made for Test Cricket and he will succeed here.
