Until he accepts this weakness he will never improve.. He made same mistakes in South Africa in 2011 and has not improved batting against swing at all.. But temperament was better before this series so there is hope

He said have someone bowl to you some "Throw-downs" using a tennis ball. That's one of the best practice. I agree with him. Come to think of it, it makes sense. Will help you adjust to the bounce and short ball easily. You will start playing a bit up too.

He said have someone bowl to you some "Throw-downs" using a tennis ball. That's one of the best practice. I agree with him. Come to think of it, it makes sense. Will help you adjust to the bounce and short ball easily. You will start playing a bit up too.

His problem is not bounce He is probably best player in team after Kohli of bounce ,maybe even best .. It's full swinging balls he has problem with bad foot work and most of times bad temperament ,it's bad combination and we saw the result

Rewind back to the first game on tour, it took him 20 some balls to get off the mark as Steyn kept bowling outswing and some other random variations. It was hard for him to adjust. That is something he needs to work on. He plays the straight ball or or consistent, predictable swing with ease. You can see him playing spin pretty well too at times. If he predicts the swing of a bowler or a line, he does well. But in South Africa it gets tough as you have Philander coming in bowling something else, and then you have Steyn bowling barrage of out swingers along with one on leg and one bounce every over.

You think new Zeland would be easy for guy like him ? Southee will keep bowling where rohit finds it uncomfortable they are top class bowling unit And confidence after great year should have been fine but he just could not play this type of bowling all of sudden..keep in mind he has played Odis here before,he has toured here before with a team also he has played in foreign conditions before plenty of times and had a fantastic year on pitches with not much help .. It's just technical glitch so I hope unlike people here he is not making excuses and is working on it You mentioned tendulkar...I will mention Dravid who kept working on his technique till he retired In England he started playing inside the line much more to cover swing ...and scored hundreds before that he was struggling :winky:
