It's high time for India to show the fillers the way out

So let's ignore that as soon as a wicket fell and AB came to the crease, Dhoni removed his strike bowler and allowed AB easy runs to settle down

Let's ignore all the tactical mistakes made by Dhoni

Let's ignore that game was easily winnable even in the last few overs for us and should be won

Let's ignore all the 101 factors which happens in every game under Dhoni and let's just blame some runs given in the death which happens even to the best bowlers! Do you know that in recent times Indian death bowling was the BEST in the world in ODIs? They are bound to have an off day

I love the fact that instead of focusing on the chronic problem, you are blaming one off day by the bowler. Here's an idea, next time the opposition crosses 300, we should give a walkover as according to you team has already lost!

I did not watch that part of the game, and as I said earlier - not going to argue on Dhoni's captaincy at this time. My point is, that Dhoni the batsman, did not cost us this game.

If Phaast-man Yadav does slightly better than leaking for 34 runs in his last 2 overs, we win this game.  Compare that to a Saffer newbie bowler like Rabada, who conceded single digits per over in his last 2.  Thats where India lost the game.

Fans are getting sucked into confirmation bias to fit their pre-game beliefs.  Come on ICFers, do better than that.

I love how you cling on to one excuse about one bowler having an off day and IGNORE what Dhoni has been doing game after game after game. There was not one reason we lost the match, there were 10 reasons. And I would rther blame a veteran captain than a bowler having an off day at death. India has had one of the BEST death bowling in recent times, I can forgive one off day

We would have won if we had put pressure on AB and tried to get him out instead of bowling Raina to him. we would have won of we had shown intent while chasing. We would have won if Dhoni had tried hitting one boundary before the 47th over. Yet you focus on a rookie fast bowler? Why? And you call others as having confirmation basis? Really? Defending someone because he won a world cup 4 years ago is confirmation bias.

So in your opinion, Dhoni was "not trying" to hit boundaries before the 47th over?  And a bowler playing his 51st ODI is a rookie? Again, I'm not focusing on him alone - a 100 over game is not lost by a 2 over spell alone - my point is that bowling in the last 5 overs was one the key differences between the 2 sides in a super-close game.  But comparing head-to-head, if you consider Yadav's 2 overs at the death vs Dhoni's batting at the death - it was the former that cost us the game, not the latter.  Regardless, I'm not calling for Yadav's head, like you are for Dhoni's.  From a perspective of where Team India can and should do better, Yadav's performance is the more pressing issue, not Dhoni's batting.

He wans't indeed, otherwise he would have hit tahir leg-stump full toss for a six, and there were many such instances where he was not able to connect the ball. I don't understand your logic that he was not fit and yet he came before Raina, if you see their current form and power shot hitting capability Raina was much better option at that position.

I would say batting in the last 5 overs was the differenc. SA didn't bowl anything special. Dhoni was 9 if 16 when we needed 9 an over.

TBH ashwin doesn't get injured India wins pretty easily. India only had 3 genuine bowlers after that considering binny is just a glorified part timers. South africa had wickets in hand nothing was gonna stop them from posting a good total which India almost chased down.

Rahane is the weak link in the batting line up but team managment has made is clear they are gonna give him a Rohit Sharma type of run.

Dhoni clearly is past his peak but nobody is gonna drop him either.

You are going to judge Umesh's bowling by the same standards as Binny's?  That says it all right there, doesn't it.

And again, dont mean to be overly harsh on Umesh - point I'm trying to make is that crucifying Dhoni for today's loss is inaccurate - India lost the game in last 5 overs of the saffer innings, coupled with the dismissals of Kohli and Rohit.  Yes, Raina and Dhoni failed to finish, but they are not the reasons we lost.

And just because India lacks 140k plus bowlers doesn't mean we hold Umesh to a lower standard.  Doesn't mean he should be dropped.  Nothing against him, but its not as if this was his 5th or 6th ODI in home conditions.  He is expected to be better than he was today, thats the point.

What about Bhuvi's performance then? He bowled much more badly than Umesh. 67 runs for 0 wickets. Umesh was the best among India's pace bowlers yesterday. But that is not saying much. Need Shami to come back...

Need Bhuvi to pick up wickets upfront too. Bowled badly yesterday. Ideally Umesh, Shami and Bhuvi should be the bowling attack in ODI's. But no way would Dhoni play 3 seamers in India unless the pitch helps fast bowlers. Need to kick Binny out. If only Bhuvi improved his batting he would be the perfect all rounder India is looking for...

Bk is an incompetent bowler who has no idea how to take wickets up front. Seriously, how long has he been playing for India?? He don't have the physique nor pace to help him run through the batting line up.

And you want to get rid of Bhuvi?  Brilliant logic.  Is it because he isn't phaast enough to satisfy your small-d!ck ego?

Sorry for lashing out, but am annoyed with a loss in a winnable game and can't stand the immature nonsense I'm seeing on ICF without reacting.

It's not because of his pace.. heck I even praised him in the match thread because he increased his pace

He is playing from 2012 IIRC, he was one hell of a bowler in first few games but his graph has gone down drastically. He simply don't have it to do well in good batting pitches.

Bhuvi has infact increased his pace, he now easily bowls 135-140k in ODI and T20I instead of the earlier 125-130k. He was just out of the team for long, so need some matches to gain back his rhythm, would be deadly if he starts swinging the ball like earlier but at 135-140k speeds.
