Sadly my first post for a while is a depressing one.My father has been given a few months and disease is setting in. His recurrent wish (and he asks daily) is to fly to Delhi. I'd have to get a fit to fly certificate from the doctor in case his oxygen saturation dips. I'd have to find a 5 start hotel willing to work with me to install a hospital bed, assist with clinical waste. The list is daunting but not insurmountable. Even if we only spend a week there it will leave us with a wealth of memories. We are based in London. Happy to hear from posters with good advice. What i'd really like to know is whether medicinal cannabinoids are available in Delhi? I'm keen to try easing my father's symptoms with the stuff if not cure him (there are numerous anecdotes of people going into remission on cannabis). Even my GP friends think it's worth a shot. Sadly it's not legally available in the UK. I could probably get it or even grow it with enough determination (i haven't got the first clue on how though).....but....does one chase a solution, or just give in and chase quality of life. Hoping to do both if possible. Happy to hear from doctors, professional growers...anyone! Thanks.Goose

He was still wheelchair bound then but we had a great time. i am his hands and feet...he want to do something i make it happen. Sadly on this occasion he would be far more limited. The thought of relying on an alien medical system should anything go acutely wrong does worry me. Just the sights and smells of india would be a huge tonic i'm sure even if the majority of the time was spent resting in his room watching tv. I'd have to arrange a wheelchair accessible vehicle. Kalia_Test Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Sorry to hear this @goose. I can understand your situation as my father had Renal Cell Carcinoma ( Kidney Cancer ) in 2008. In July 2008, doctors gave him 3-6 months. I ran around for all kind of alternate treatments ( in hindsight, they look bad but then anything looks like a ray of hope in that situation ). Tried to make him comfortable as long as he lived. He passed away in early Nov 2008.These months will be most difficult but you need to be strong. We never told my mother about what the doctor said and even till a day before my father passed away, she was hopeful. It was an agony to see her hope against hope. Not sure who else knows about what the doctors told about your father but it has to be very very few.Try whatever you can. Miracles do happen sometimes. Do your best.

coffee_rules Posted October 14, 2015 Posted October 14, 2015 Sorry to hear about your dad. I think it is a bad time for anybody to go through, I hope your family gets strength. In my case, I was based in US when my dad was hospitalized and went into coma. I had spent 10 days with him in the hospital, the last day he was conscious, recognized us all and smiled as well and told us to be be brave. Time is a good healer, stay strong. Sorry that I don't have any advice, I think you can look at some bright side when you get time with him now. randomGuy 1

If someone is carrying the medicines along with the doctor's prescription ( which is the key thing), the customs should allow it I suppose.Gambit has a good idea too. It should be available in India as well. Just have to search.
