We need a complete overhaul of our ODI team

We need to completely overhaul the odi team .like we did after the loss to Pak in 2012 its been long over due as well.

Only Rohit Kohli Dhoni and Ashwin deserve their place in the ODI team .

Maybe Shami when he returns to fitness

But need to try new players for every other position .

Rahane shouldnt bat anywhere other than Opener .Should settle between Dhawan based in form and other one should sit out .

Its over due Raina spent some time out of the team .He is been in the team for long on reputation alone .

Try some youngsters like Samson or Gurkareet or Pandya .We need some big hitting finishers in the middle order not Rahane strutting out when asking rate is 10 an over

On the bowling we need wicket takers doing damage control from the first over .Its just embarrassing ffs . I like Bhuvi as bowler but he doesn't take wickets up front .Maybe its flat tracks if so then we should only play if conditions offer some help .He should be the 3rd choice seamer depending on conditions not first choice regardless of wicket

Need to find qualify bowlers who can do that and pick wickets up top not the shit like Mohit Umesh or Vinay .J

Also if we lose this series to SA its then time Dhoni steps down as Captain .I personally would give captaincy to Rohit but that's unlikely and Kohli is deserves it tbf after the Lankan series .Dhoni would likely play with much more freedom without captaincy as well

I am not sure who we next play in our next odi series but would like if we could line up like this

Form what I saw in IPL, Pandya and Iyer definitely have to be picked. Hooda too after he gets more consistent.

We need to try youngsters ASAP otherwise these passengers will occupy their positions for the next 10 years. We have many options which should be tried in ODI and T20 like Gurkeerat, Hardik Pandya, Deepak Hooda, Sanju Samson, Shreyas Iyer, Manan vohra, Mayank agarwal and Mandeep Singh. Heck, the Indian "A" team is stronger than the main team!!

Captaincy changes will go a long way. No aggression in this team, defensive attitude will get us nowhere. @sage, do you remember Kohli, Raina could easily score at 8-9 per over without trouble, they are morally down. And of course we are carrying trundlers who go for almost 7 on this pitch

I don't know about the players, but I certainly don't get the 5 bowlers approach. India needs to revert back to the 7+4 formula, at least when playing at home. Play to your strengths which is batting. At least have 7 players who are capable enough to bat genuinely.

Rahane and Raina need to be dropped. Rahane does not have the ability to accelerate. Apart from that 1 knock in the WC he has done very little this year.

MSD is being forced to compensate for both of them.

This is a good team for subcontinental pitches. But for games abroad in pitches with a bit of bounce like Aus, SA add Umesh in the mix in place of Mishra/Bhuvi.

I don't think Nair has the game needed for modern ODIs. Iyer is a perfect fit, dude strikes at around 80 in FC FFS

Nair does have the game. He is an ideal middle order player.

Yusuf pathan in india is the best no 6 or no 7 batsman along with Raina and Dhoni....these 3 guys should bat and 5 6 n 7

Binny is a good batsman but a bad bowler so he is not the all rounder we need period.

 

either hardik or Yusuf can do the job or is gurkeerat as good as Yusuf.
