fineleg Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 (edited) ODIs - leave him there. This is like "Yuvraj Singh in tests" experiment, selectors need to learn difference between Tests and ODI and Tamasha cricket and move on.In fact, Yuvi is a better Test bat than tailunt. cowboysfan Posted November 25, 2015 Posted November 25, 2015 A fucking travesty this guy plays test cricket for any nation.Cant play fast bowling, cant play spin,a modern idiot created by IPL without any talent.
rkt.india Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 A fucking travesty this guy plays test cricket for any nation.Cant play fast bowling, cant play spin,a modern idiot created by IPL without any talent. He was picked for India before IPL. So, IPL has not made him. He came through after doing well at U19. He isnt a test material, but he is one of the best players of fast bowling in this team.
sandeep Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Ok, so you hate Rohit sharma and dont think he's test material. Get Sarfaraz Khan or Samson in there right away!

fineleg Posted November 26, 2015 Author Posted November 26, 2015 For 4th Test: will Kohli have the wisdom to try Gurkeerat Man instead of Tailunt-No-hit as spin allrounder? vijay50 1
express bowling Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 (edited) I am really interested in seeing how Shreyas Iyer and Gurkeerat Mann fare in international cricket. Reason is because both are " high average + high scoring rate " batsmen in FC ( the 4 day and 5 day format )Iyer average 55.6 and SR 83...Gurkeerat average 47 and SR 80.Even if one of them comes good it will aid our team immensely in winning test matches.Iyer is a better batsman and Gurkeerat has the advantage of being an all-rounder. Lannister Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Him, along with Dhawan, tells us everything that is wrong with Indian test cricket. Just leave tests for test specialists, which neither of them are. doccricket 1
The Realist Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Nobody in this current team can score big on a consistent basis. Pujara used to be able to but seems to get out in the 30s far too often now. Rahane and Kohli appear useless at home. Dhawan far too flakey. And Nohit in tests is just a sad parody. The whole batting line-up appears to be an experiment.

I think Indian batsmen > padosi batsmen, IF ONLY our guys (incl Kohli, Rahane) show the application and temperament.
vijay50 Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 (edited) Enough of Rohit and his brainfart. Time to try Gurkeerat Singh.Atleast play Sehwag in next test and give him a farewell. Edited November 27, 2015 by vijay50 doccricket 1

I think Indian batsmen > padosi batsmen, IF ONLY our guys (incl Kohli, Rahane) show the application and temperament. You can't judge any batsman on pitches like these neither a bowler. No batsman is going to do much here. Batsmen like AB and Amla struggling. Amla averaged over 100 in India before this series. It tells you how tough these pitches have been for batting.

Stats in most cases suggest reality in most cases Rohit was failure in SA ...agreed.In tour of New Zealand Rohit managed to score 122 runs in 2 Test matches with a highest score of 72 at an average of 40.66. Decent job I sayIn england he played only One Test. Only we indians can call a batsman failure based on 1 Test.Australia tour wasnt good for any player expect Vijay, all players had failures.( I am purposefully avoiding his good performance in Srilanka series and amazing debut performances against WI)And Friend have merci on him , playing one or two good innings on start of career doesnt make a player Great. Its skills he possess and improvement he does in his game which makes him good.Rohit has more mastery of all the cricketing shots & perfection in timing the shots than Rahane-Lokesh (Or even Virat) while the later batsmen have better temperament than Rohit.Rohit can improve in department he is low at but no player can excel in departments which are USP of Rohit's class.Give him some time Bro, Murali Vijay was mocked by many indians based on his initial performances but I was one who always backed him for Test spot (I even think he should be selected as back up opener for ODI) watching his few cricketing shots. Same goes with Rohit. If we fail to encash skills of players like Rohit or Vijay, It will be loss of indian cricket.

He was averaging 60+ and scoring at high rates as well. In fact, early on, he was a much better 4day player than the limited stuff. And didn't he just drop a century in his first ranji game this season? This is not fantasy cricket where you play superselector with the lineup and plug in the flavor of the month. Rohit may have his haters and deservedly so, but he is definitely in the top 5 middle order batsmen in the country. How about you compare his and Kohli's numbers in the last 5 tests? Or does Mr. Anushka's perpetual fishing outside off get a pass because you like his bearded smirky face, or because he happens to be Captain? And KL Rahul better than Rohit? That's downright laughable. Ankit_sharma03 1
