Shivaji bhonsle Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 110 overs - 5 wickets from the last 11 Odis. Economy rate isn't any good either. How does he keeps playing after repeated failures? Will he be dropped from the next odi?
rkt.india Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 it is not decline. He is conditions dependent. If there is no swing available, he will always struggle. Tell me a series where he has done anyhting great apart from his debut series against Pak and then in WI, both in helpful conditions. adi B 1
express bowling Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 I have pointed this out , all along his career, that he has never been a wicket taker in either tests or ODis unless he is bowling in England and other similar swing friendly conditions. He has29 wickets from 12 tests @ 2.42 wickets per test60 wickets from 56 ODIs @ 1.07 wickets per ODI http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/player/326016.html Neither is good if we are talking about a wicket taking bowler. Tell me a series where he has done anyhting great apart from his debut series against Pak and then in WI, both in helpful conditions.Xactly if ever we see his perfomance agianst teams like Nz, Sa n aus It ll be really badCoz they have better footwork to handle his swing n also they r way more attacking All his wkts wud come against teams like Wi , Pak - of which batsman dnt use thei feet n jst play away from the body now that is dangerous against swingN now he is nt even swinging the ball anymoreHe is just bowling 3 quater lengthN with his pace its easy to make own length by batsman He cnt come n bowl in death over, no slower ball. I always felt he is decent odi bowler n gud t20But in t20 he becomes gud coz he has to bowl 4 over. which he bowls with full steam around 140KHe also is handy on green pitches but u dnt get that in odi M nt against him being in squad as a variety bowler , but as main bowler . No no no Last two yrs He has played 30 matches n 30 wkts n Eco is also Above 5. whereas umesh24 matches 42 wkts n eco around 5.4 So how is he prefferd in teamn in last two yrs only 5wkts in 1st ten overIf raina , umesh or anyone can b dropped.so y cnt he be
tweaker Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 He was not the original choice as replacement. Jasprit Bumrah was on standby but in late development He was asked to join the team.It should be investigated how he was selected over Bumrah who was in red hot form in both VH & SMA tournament. Bumrah has all the skill s needed in Odi ie can bowl 135kmph+ speed, has unusual action, has good Yorker, lethal bouncer, was also in good wicket taking form..We have seen how Sran had carried his wicket taking form from VH trophy to first odi inspite of him being rookie in domestic cricket. Now the selectors should not bow to whims & fancies of a captain & should selected new young, exiting, talentedtalented cricketers instead of tried & tested failures. We should have selected almost new team for T20 series instead of Yuvraj, Dhoni, Nehra, Harbhajan. Rightarmfast, Mosher, adi B and 2 others 5

Also if i rem out of 29 wkts 11 wkts r in only two innings Left 18 wkts tweaker and express bowling 2
express bowling Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 unnecessarily putting him under pressure by saying he has lost swing just like irfan was pestered about losing pace ,even in that 1st series i remember he swung it in banglore but it didnt swing in the next match in ahmedabad ,just needs to bowl normally without trying to change too many things.True.Bhuvi has not lost swing.Recently, he has played mostly in conditions which are not favourable for conventional swing.
Ankit_sharma03 Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 True.Bhuvi has not lost swing.Recently, he has played mostly in conditions which are not favourable for conventional swing. Not sure if he has or notBut he is not even trying toHis length r diff whereas it shud b fullIn Sa series- i dnt know y he was bowling of short of gud lengthNothing bad in develping pace.U need some pace. All he needs to do wat most gr8 bolwers like steyn, zaheer, anderson didtry to swing the new ball not worry about speed, Jst feel he is trying to release the bowl early N in the second spell bowl faster n sharper

The Realist Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Poor man's Irfan Pathan.Been found out at international level and unless he develops new skills will just become another Vinay Kumar type player.
adi B Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 Well at least he is bowling a bit quicker.the problem for him is he Wil never get favorable conditions in aus and he will remain a limited bowler.About the irfan pathan comparison,I remember a close friend of mine said exactly the same thing about booby in 2013 ,he said he'll go the same route as pathan and will get massacred in Australia (specifically mentioned the wc) lol

In the first season or two there is a novelty factor....not many batsmen have actually played the bowler and if he gets swing then he gets some success. After that...it is a real up-hill task for them as the novelty factor is gone.95% or even more of the strike bowlers at test level have or had either pace, or steep bounce or both. So, when the ball is not swinging, they have an additional weapon.

Adi_91 Posted January 13, 2016 Posted January 13, 2016 I don't like the new Bhuvi with increased speed. If you increase the speed and bowl trash, you play into the hands of the batsmen because they can use the extra pace to smash you.
Lannister Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 It's a wonder how he's still in the team. Mosher, express bowling and Ankit_sharma03 3
express bowling Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 It's a wonder how he's still in the team. Abysmal figures Ankit_sharma03 and Mosher 2
express bowling Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Booby would have been a great batsman if those were his batting averages.
The Realist Posted January 14, 2016 Posted January 14, 2016 Those stats make you wonder on what criteria he gets consistently selected.Vinay Kumar, Dinda & Unadkat must feel cheated. Lannister and Rightarmfast 2
