Ankit_sharma03 Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 (edited) The technical committee of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday cleared the India 'A' team's tour of Australia in August for two four-day matches and a limited-overs tri-series. The committee also discussed the format of the Duleep Trophy for the 2016-17 season. It was recommended that the selectors should pick four teams to participate in a round-robin format tournament. The entire tournament will be a day/night affair. Full article-http://www.sportskeeda.com/cricket/bcci-technical-committee-clears-india-a-tour-of-australia So after Some disappointing selections i hope selectors dont waste this opp to try lot of youngsters on A-tour down under. Also Impressed with the idea of 4 teams selected for duleep trophy by selectors rather having zonal teams which gives chances to best 45-55 best player and increases the level of contest. Coming BAck to A-tour down under , there wud be Patta tracks like Last which i hope selectors understand n dnt send an army of trundlers. Players who missed out both tours shud be send on this tour for sure. Also i wud suggest they send some one like Zaheer or Nehra with them as bowling coach. Players who need to be send on this tour Fast bowlers- Aaron, rajput ,Sran , Nathu, Avesh khan Spinners- Jayant yadav (test), Kuldeep (odi) chahal Test Batsman- Nair, Manish Pandey, Iyer, Baba aprajith, Unmukt, Naman Ojha, KS bharat ODI- Unmukt, Nair, Pandey, Iyer, Mayank, Samson, Pant, Sarfraz, Pandya Bros, Suryakumar yadav , Players who shudnt be send- Uthappa, Karthik, Raydu, Manoj tiwary, Kedhar Jadhav, Krishna das, Vinay kumar, Sandeep sharma, Rishi dhawan, Sreenath Arvind, Dhawal Kulkarni ( all these player have played Enough A games or either are not suitable for Int cricket demands) Also Hardik Pandya shud play 4 day A games so that he can bowl lots n lots of overs otherwise his bowling cnt improve and playing 4day cricket helps ur temperament. IF we dnt groom him we wnt get rid of the likes Rishi dhawan n binny. I wnt mind sending someone like Yuvraj singh who looks to be getting in groove and his fielding n fitness looks lot improved. An inform yuvraj singh is an asset to any side and he can get rid us from raina. Edited May 30, 2016 by Ankit_sharma03 tweaker, Mosher, msplash9 and 2 others 5
tweaker Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Young & exiting players should be choosen for the A tour. But I trust selectors to goof up & select ordinary players. express bowling 1
Mosher Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 This is great for the youngsters. We need more A tours. BCCI will also hold talks with NZ for India A tour. It would be really good for Indian cricket if this goes through. express bowling and tweaker 2
tweaker Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Only young players who have realistic chance to play for team India should be choosen instead of some quota picks express bowling and Mosher 2
BlueBee Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Rayudu, Binny, Rishi, Arvind etc will be selected. Don't be surprised. Mosher and tweaker 2
The Realist Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Expect same old to be recycled: Vinay Kumar Rayudu Dinda Etc tweaker 1
Shoonya Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 Ray of hope? India A has been regularly touring Australia. In 2014, Naman Ojha scored back to back 200s in Australia. Because this is in July when WI test tour is there, a lot of players from Zimbabwe tour will get picked for A side. Rayudu, Shreyas Iyer, Karun Nair, Manish Pandey, Mandeep Singh, Faiz Fazal, Axar Patel, Rishi Dhawan, Jayant Yadav, Bumrah, Unadkat, Kulkarni, Sran will all get picked. Rayudu will most likely be the captain and Samson the keeper. That will be the most likely 15 member squad tweaker 1
f.b.m Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 August is an odd time to have a test series in Australia. Won't be a real reflection of conditions (or pitches) that you'd get in the summer but playing against a good opposition should help the players.

kosingh Posted May 30, 2016 Posted May 30, 2016 This is a great opportunity for the nepotism selections. Get all the influential people's bhai, bhateja, padosi in this squad in the tournament where your selections are not under the scanner. tweaker 1
tweaker Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 Selectors should select a new set of promising youngsters ie Shreyas,Nathu,Kuldeep,Rajpoot, etc instead of Dinish karthik,Rayuddu,Mohit etc express bowling 1
express bowling Posted May 31, 2016 Posted May 31, 2016 (edited) A tours are for developing young players who have the potential to play for India. I hope the selectors remember that. Another issue to be kept in mind is not confusing formats. Edited May 31, 2016 by express bowling tweaker and Mosher 2
renjith Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 if the wickets are pattas like last year, it will be a waste of time.
maniac Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 (edited) People are getting all amped up about an A tour to Australia but it's going to be totally pointless going by history. The Highest List A score before Rohit's 264 belonged to Shikhar Dhawan-248. Guess what It came against South Africa A. Do you think Dhawan has the ability to score a 100 in a ODI in South AFrica leave alone a 150? Naman Ojha has 2 back to back doubles in Australia-I will take it if he scores a 50 in a test match in Australia leave alone a 100. Even Umesh Yadav almost scored a 100 last tine India A toured there and guess what for a change it was with the bat. Similarly, if England or Australia A teams tour India, they will not get the dustbowls that the senior team will be welcomed with in test matches. I am not saying that these tours are totally devoid of any benefits.....Bowlers,Temperament and other aspects of a player can be assessed but let's not make it seem like A tours to these countries are the best thing since slice bread Edited June 1, 2016 by maniac tweaker 1
chewy Posted June 1, 2016 Posted June 1, 2016 Agree with a few, these A tours have been going on for some years, especially the annual Emerging Players Tournament in Aus, and India A actually do very well. But results never seem to translate to success at international level. Better to make Ranji season longer (play more matches) and continue to improve quality of Ranji. tweaker 1
gakgupta Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 Instead of this tour....I would prefer a full series with Ireland / Scotland n send second string Indian team....just like what we are doing with Zimbabwe Sent from my XT1068 using Tapatalk tweaker 1
