KL rahul vs dhawan vs rahane

Who do u think should be regular ODI opener??

KL Rahul is the front runner for me. Hopefully he improves his fielding skills

I would like to see Lokesh back in the test team. He has improved a lot since the Australia tour. More confidence and hunger. Good to see. 

 

Biryani shouldn't be in the ODI team. Seems like he gets those 50s every time with ultra low strike rate just to secure his spot.

Rahane is the better of the 3 batsmen.

 But his game is not yet suited for odi. Rahul should be the opener in both Lois and tests.

 

Dhawan should be kicked out of all formats.

Tests-Rahane any day.

 

BTW, Rahul doesn't have a single two-digit score for India yet. It's only either 3 digits or single digits.

KL rahul any day in Odi- he has techqniue , he can hit big shots and can make big scores. Strike rotation is gud

Dhawan- will keep him as backup in subcontinet , he has been found wanting in many places. high dot ball%

rahane- doesnt convert his starts , doesnt have big shots and his dot ball % his high like dhawan but dhawan has big shots. wud be my back up for overseas tour as opener

FOR ODI...Dhwan is better than Rahane and Rahane is better than or equal to KL Rahul.

I would pick Rahul to open in LOIs.

 

He is a proper batsman , can hit big shots  and is showing  will to improve.

Advantage only matters if u score runs, the guy plays so many dot balls add to that rohit takes his time to get set . 

Dhawan is also not gr8 against spin which atleast gambhir was and then his obv weakness against swing seam.

Then he is highly inconsistent , i see more disadvantage with him than advantage

difficult to make up mind right now as Rahul is just starting. Keep him in the loop and give him some opportunities to prove he is better. I am happy to see his progress. I still feel he is little susceptible to good bowling sometimes and he sometimes comes under pressure. But others have also not been good all the time. 

 

Definitely the one to watch out for in the long run.

We might need Rahane in England/SA ODIs. On subcontinent, Dhawan and KL Rahul are better.

Rahul has the technique to score in England , infact it suits his playing style . 

I like Rahane too .

Rahul still has a long way to go , but hes got everything to be a great player . There are some areas of his game he needs to work on , but hes one of those players with no obvious weakness , equally strong in the back foot as well as front foot , equally good against pace and spin and scores both sides of the wicket , can drive , pull and cut , there are minor issues in all the areas though which he can work on . The biggest difference hes probably seeing now is the difference in quality of domestic bowlers and international , but I have no doubts he will transition well eventually 6-12 months time .

Rohit, Rahane, Kohli, Rahul, Pandey, WK and Alr. This will be a good batting lineup goin into the next year's champions trophy. 

 

We missed the trick in grooming Mayank Agarwal as a backup opener, when he looked in a great touch a year ago or so. Now he's lost his confidence. Very poor player management by the selectors.
