And if you remove those, they will still have better WL ratio.

2011 to  2014 have been one of the worst periods for Indian test cricket, when all the top players as well as the captain were in the last years of their illustrous test careers and most were playing or captaining  past their expiry dates and then we had a team full of rookies at test level.

I am sure the 5 years, starting from the SL tour last year, would be way better.

It is very important to have a transition plan for both captains and players when they are near the ends of their careers and backup players and captains should be made ready in advance ....and this did not happen. Not sure it will happen in the future too , as we are mesmerized by superstars and think from their point of view and not from the point of view of having the most effective team at any given point of time.

The good news is that the transition period is now almost over with most players settled in the team. Except Dhawan, most players have performed well overall.

Pakistan has performed way better than what India did in England last time. They are close to drawing this series, something which most of the teams have struggled to do in recent time.

Drawing a series in England in 4 match series is something we can only dream of. Kudos to Pakistan. They are the best team in Asia if not in the world.I hope we beat England this winter otherwise that would be too embarrassing.

IMO pakistan are a better team than India at this moment....

I think the experience of Younis and Misbah gives Pakistan that edge

Good on Pak.

2-2 result against Eng in Eng is a good achievement esp. in these times where every team is struggling on away tours. Also Eng in Eng is pretty strong anyway.

On current form Pak best Test team from Asia, even if they lose current series ( though very unlikely now). In this England series they have shown gutsy fight back and likely to draw current series.

They were in a strong position in last match too.
