I wudnt say the Autowalas are decent , not in comparison with Mumbai ..generally they are a pain , they charge extra & are un reliable ...I experience the same as anyone else though I speak Kannada, these morons need to stop telling its cos they are from north or some other states ..and these guys need to stop expecting every one will know Hindi in Bangalore , they dont have to ..some of these guys come from villiages where they have no exposure to Hindi ..tbh from what I have seen most people in bangalore put an effort to speak not just Hindi , but also Tamil , telegu etc . The problem is when these guys start telling the locals that they have to know Hindi . you deserve a beating if you come in with such attitude . Mumbai was exactly the same .

Yes  mumbai and Bengaluru are very welcoming cities. But 2-3 years ago  mumbai was in news for attacks against north indians. That's what i meant. By and large all these are not  common occurrences.

actually this is true. I found only tamil guys who run autos try to go over meter, i think its a culture thing. But i wont say they would beat people up.

thats because the locals speak kannada, and if the tamil guy does not speak in broken Kannada it is never found that he is not a local lol.

One of my cousin who worked for samsung got beaten in the same place a year back ( kagaddaspura road ) ..

he was forced into some alteraction and things went bad for him .. and his valuables were stolen in the chaos ..

 

probably i guess the motive is same , get into fight with the victim ..

i myself lost my beloved mobile to a similar incident at BTM circle

So only specific incidents are required to form an opinion? I lived in Chennai for about 6 months and I am not North Indian...infact lot of locals seemed to have a basic understanding of Telugu but still I felt,the intent of the Autowallahs and the locals was to rip off non-localities regardless of region.....cmon Chennai and Calcutta are notorious for that.

half of chennai people are telugu people only ( many telugu guys are aggressively proud tamilians .. aka vaiko , vijaykanth etc ) ..

but as far as i know , chennai autowalas are the worst .. if they get a bakra , they ll start with 250rs for 1.5kms
