Dhoni didnt drop Gambhir or Yuvraj it was our selection committee call- Sandeep Patil

Obviously.

Gambhir: Dhoni, when asked why we didn't bring a backup opener during our SA-NZ tour, he said he considers Gambhir the backup opener, even though he wasn't in the squad. Gambhir also came back for the England series.

Yuvraj: played both the last 2 WT20s after not exactly setting the world on fire in the last few IPLs. Also played the last Asia cup.

They both had numerous chances, since supposedly being ousted. If Dhoni didn't want them, how would they have been selected, let alone played at all?

Exactly. Both of them got plenty of chances, which they squandered. Instead of blaming anyone else, they should have introspected and asked themselves if they genuinely deserve to be in the team. Gambhir's last 4 Test innings were 4,18,0,3 - hardly earth-shattering. And Yuvraj was the reason why we lost the 2014 World T20 despite being the best team throughout the tournament. Yet, Yuvraj got more chances up until the last T20 World Cup, in which he wasn't very effective either.

In fact, on the contrary, I would say that Dhoni as captain kept a lot of dead weight around and did not ring in the changes that were sorely needed.

Sandpeep Patil is now no more selector. So will say anything to get into limelight.P probably also bitter that overlooked for the coach role.

So whether true or not , better to take everything he says with pinch of salt.

This is confusing so dhoni dropped seniors from the team shown in his biopic. But selectors dropped gauti and yuvi. One of them is wrong.

That was sourav n dravid but yes a captain has a say but blaming him alone is not right. N most imp those guys were failing and were no asset in field to

I feel the biopic talks about Ganguly and Dravid in that CB series 08. They played the last ODI series before that.

I feel dhoni was powerful as he had the backing of Srini. Sandeep patil is making statements to stay relevant.
