fineleg Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 (edited) MSD standard dialog at the toss: "No changes, We are playing the same 11" Aren't we glad that the Mule like stubborn thingy is over. Kumble and Kohli are (50%) playing horses-for-courses. 50% - still some ways to go, but at least 50%. There are a few stubborn things like S. Dhawan and R. Sharma - but hopefully those things in the 11 will change too. Edited October 1, 2016 by fineleg tweaker, Mosher, New guy and 1 other 4
fineleg Posted October 1, 2016 Author Posted October 1, 2016 Except now we are playing Indian IX instead of Indian XI. Couple of passengers should be dropped. Get Manish Pandey, Abhinav Mukund et.al. and make it Indian XI tweaker 1

Rohit is the only stubborn selection. tweaker 1
Silva Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 (edited) He picked bhajji yadav and arron ahead of bk on seamer friendly pitches in sri lanka. More of a lets try something different strategy rather than horses for courses. Edited October 1, 2016 by Silva sscomp32, Lord and tweaker 3
Tibarn Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 I like Kohli as captain so far, but the criticism of Dhoni was always regarding to overseas tests. If, the next time we tour overseas, we get embarrassed, then people may start questioning Kohli's as well. We may try horses for courses overseas, but if the horses are the same( ie Ishant, Shami, Bhuvi), we are relying on inspired captaincy and the bowlers own development. tweaker 1
Bigg Brother Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 Still early days..He has made selection blunders like he made in WI but Ashwin-Saha saved him.Persisting with Rohit-Dhawan,making Rohit play over Pujara at 3 are some of the pathetic desicions. Thanks to Ashwin,"aggresive captain" is successful for now tweaker 1
fineleg Posted October 1, 2016 Author Posted October 1, 2016 Yes some decisions of Kohli are very foolish. But he seems more willing to change and try things out.

Texan Posted October 1, 2016 Posted October 1, 2016 But didn't you guys know - process matters more than results. 20 years later who will remember the results, they will only remember the process followed to achieve the results. Laaloo 1
