Has the doosra completely disappeared from the game of cricket?

All this Harbhajan talk got me thinking.  I don't hear anything about the doosra any more.  Is there anyone at the international level who routinely bowls it?  

 

It was always my contention that you simply cannot bowl the doosra without a significant degree of elbow bending.  And I think the off-spinners of the late 90s and 2000s who bowled the doosra were all chuckers - including Muralitharan.  But then again, I am not a test-class bowler :-), and there are many things I cannot do with the cricket ball and so I deferred to the opinion of real athletes on that.   Fast forward to today, and the disappearance of doosra bowlers is remarkable - The purveyors of the doosra have all either retired or got banned for suspect actions, and no one seems to have emerged to take their place.  Even Harbhajan was never the same after he returned from his ban.  I wonder if the ball that took the world by storm is gone forever.  And if it ever was legal in the first place.

The dosra was an illegal delivery and hence in the light of the crackdown on illegal actions has disappeared.

People who claim that Saqlain Mushtaq was the only guy to bowl the Doosra legally are just kidding themselves......Doosra can never be bowled legally.

 

probably the only thing that could be said in Saqlain's defense was he bowled the Doosra within the 15 degree limit which also is debatable.....once you are not bowling with a straight arm and  setting yourself up with the idea that 15 degrees is ok....things start creeping in......What are the odds that every Saqlain doosra was within the 15 degree limit or just about at 15 degrees....Even with likes of Ajmal and Hafeez people justified their shady actions as being within 15 degrees only to find out that they were blatantly throwing.

 

ICC's greatest contribution and probably the only significant one to cricket this decade has been the crackdown on chuckers

i am curious- what is the grip of the doosra that makes it impossible to bowl legally ?

How does Ashwin bowl it then? (Has he never bowled it in any ODI, T20 or Test?)
I thought he has the one that goes other way?

I think to get that bounce n pace to beat the batsman u need to bend the arm with that position

He bowls the carrom ball, not doosra. carrom ball is when you hold the ball with your thumb facing left and index finger facing right, then you snap your fingers with the index finger moving anti-clockwise to meet your thumb.

while bowling doosra, your palm will have to face the batsman, so, when bowling on a 22 yard pitch, it becomes very difficult to bowl it just using your wrist and not getting help form your elbow. ON a short distance, you may deliver a doosra without bending your elbow but 22 yards is a log of distance and to bowl it with control without the help of elbow is pretty much impossible.

Saqlain mostly bowled floaters or top spinners rather than doosra like Murli and Ajmal bowled which were pretty much like leg spinners for a right hand batsman. His doosra did not turn away much but rather stayed straight.

Should dosraa be bowled sleeveless

Most of the bowlers bowling doosra are wearing full sleeves

Saqlain mostly bowled floaters or top spinners rather than doosra like Murli and Ajmal bowled which were pretty much like leg spinners for a right hand batsman. His doosra did not turn away much but rather stayed straight.

Spot on Saqlain's doosra was more a floater which had little deviation other way. But both chuckers Murali and Ajmal were bowling leg breaks which are impossible to bowl without using elbows.

Saqlain could spin his doosra the other way.Look at this.But Saqlain used his fingers and body pivot to get that away spin.
