WC2011INDIA Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 (edited) As usual Indians get overconfident after tasting some success. I predicted 3-2 because this English test team is very good. ODI and T20 will be a nightmare for us unless pitches are minefields and Virat has a good day in all the matches because rest suck on slow and low pitches. Maybe KL Rahul will do good when he returns.. Edited November 12, 2016 by WC2011INDIA tweaker 1
tweaker Posted November 12, 2016 Author Posted November 12, 2016 A draw will be a big effort for England who were supposed to be loose 5-0

If you are thinking all 5 tests are going to be result games, you are just as deluded as the 5-0 folks. tweaker 1
tweaker Posted November 12, 2016 Author Posted November 12, 2016 100 up for Engand Now leading by 149 runs

fineleg Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 What do you mean, what reality? Reality is the actual tests and outcomes, and as far as Test-1 - England has dominated thus far and the outcome can only be a Eng win or draw. Hope it is a draw. tweaker 1
tweaker Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 India 140/6 Only if Cook had declared earlier

Great test match for England -as good as it gets without winning it. India entered the match undercooked, lost the toss and ended up playing catch-up in mediocre fashion throughout. Good for England. What I want to see? 4-0. With the last win coming after resting a few of our key players. And 4-0 still possible Jimmy Cliff 1
Iconoclast Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 England have made a statement in this first test. They got rid of garbage like Hales, Vince and Ballance, added an excellent young batsmen and improved their spin bowling. This series will now be contested ... looking forward to four more entertaining matches. tweaker and sandeep 2
Sandeep99 Posted November 13, 2016 Posted November 13, 2016 Let us bring back the Indian pitches.. England's wings need to be clipped for good.
tweaker Posted November 13, 2016 Author Posted November 13, 2016 Most people didn't think England will compete & they will loose 5-0 ,but England showed they have come prepared

And English spinners have shown more wile & guile and discipline as well. And our batsmen have been jittery too. So, even with "designer pitches", the advantage may be with toss and the team with better discipline and attitude (which is England currently). Meanwhile: ECB extends Saqlain coaching spell Saqlain Mushtaq will remain with the England team until the end of the third Test in Mohali after agreeing an extension to his deal with the ECB. Saqlain, the former Pakistan offspinner, is currently in the middle of a second spell as spin-bowling consultant with the England side but had originally been contracted to spend just a couple of weeks with the team. He was scheduled to leave the tour after the first Test. But with all three spinners in the England side enjoying an improved performance in Rajkot, it has now been decided to retain his services for a little longer. While there had been some concerns over whether they would be able to extend his visa due to the strained relationship between India and Pakistan, the ECB has confirmed that the issue has been resolved. The ECB has been criticised in recent times - not least by Graeme Swann - for not providing the same level of support to spin bowlers as other disciplines within the side. While batting and bowling coaches travel with the team nearly all the time, the likes of Saqlain and, before him, Mushtaq Ahmed, have been contracted for just a few days a few times a year. Sometimes this has been arranged only a couple of days before games, providing little time for meaningful coaching or improvement. Adil Rashid's improved showing in Rajkot has, in part, been credited to Saqlain, though. Encouraged to bowl at his natural pace, rather than bowl quicker which has been a feature of recent performances, Rashid gained impressive turn and noted Saqlain's input on field placement and game plans. http://www.espncricinfo.com/india-v-england-2016-17/content/story/1066061.html Edited November 13, 2016 by fineleg Iconoclast and tweaker 2
