Hardik Pandya : The test allrounder

I think the team management really need to decide (based on what they have seen in nets and comparing him to Umesh and Ishant) if they think Pandya is good enough to be given a go as a bowling allrounder. If not, he should be released to go and play Ranji and force his way in by the Australia series. My personal view is that he could have played instead of Umesh in this test match. If they think he is not good enough to start as of the 3 seamers in Mohali (which is his best chance to play), he should be playing in Ranji matches. Don't buy this philosophy of being a part of the set-up to watch and learn and carry drinks.

It's better if those who aren't playing at least get some domestic practice under their belts.

We can't keep getting these frauds in to the team...what happened to good old specialists?

 

Jayant Yadav-The off spinner,Ravindra Jadeja-The all rounder Saha-The keeper-batsman who is good in both departments and pandya.

 

Get a well deserved specialist in.....Nair the batsman

6+1+4 works only when 3 out of 4 can pick up a large number of wkts, or when the track is very bowler-friendly. 4 bowlers will put too much pressure on Ashwin, who already has increased batting responsibilities.

Also if ur top 6 batsman can bowl a few overs. Karun nair can bowl but alone nair wont be able to give u so 10-15 overs overs. Before we had sehwag, sachin n ganguly who toghter use to give us that many overs. 

 

Pandya might debut at mohali and most probably will play in mumbai as Wankhade offers good bounce

It's going to be a very big gamble - one can only hope that it succeeds, even if partially.

Pandya is nowadays bowling 4 or 5  deliveries on  good length, around off-stump punctuated by one or two bouncers.  He is hitting the deck hard at pace and getting seam movement both ways with bounce.  Sometimes he is getting outswing.

 

This is good quality test match bowling and he should just stick to this and do nothing else.....and success will come as a bowler.  Just don't change a thing.

Ashwin isn't an alrounder in ODIs.
